Q:can this be used to find a leak in a above ground pool liner?

A:  Not really, a pool liner will leak water which probably won't "bubble". This is made to find leaks in piping systems that transmit gasses. Works great on air, natural gas, and propane lines.

    A:  NO, does not work with liquids. You could use a dye, in leu of draining the whole pool. It will take some time for your pool filter system to remove it, though.

      A:  Well, not really... it's basically just a glorified soapy solution, and unless you are going to somehow spread it all over your liner, how is it going to help?

            A:  It will create bubbles anywhere a gas is leaking. It will work with Freon, Propane, Natural gas, CO2, etc. It will NOT work with liquids.

              A:  No. There are injectable dyes used by AC Technicians to find leak. You shine a UV light to find the dye, it glows yellow.

                      A:  Hi johnhenricsen, Thanks for visiting our site! Some spray bottles might be able to spray this leak detector, but this is a thick liquid that might be too thick for some bottles to apply. There is an applicator in the bottle to apply the leak detector. This is the most efficient method of application. Thank you for asking, -Travis

                        I can’t review this because it’s not sold by Home...
                        I can’t review this because it’s not sold by Home Depot. It’s listed on there website but not sold. When you purchase they ship you another brand in a non spray bottle. The spray bottle was the reason I wanted it. Home Depot needs to correct their website!

                          Don't believe the picture, it does not come in a spray bottle. Other than that it's good stuff, works as expected. Just remember to buy a spray bottle, it makes it easier to apply.

                            We found the tiniest of bubbles to indicate where our leak was, and were very happy to have found it. It was a very slow leak, solution was left on overnight, and the bubbles were noted in the morning. Stuck on both horizontal and vertical.
