Questions & Answers

Attached Pad?

Does this have attached pad?
Asked by: tylerbsu
No attached pad. You need to use a roll out product like whisper walk. Keeps the floating floor from tapping.

Just installed looks great but the smell. How long does it take for the fumes to disappear? What can I do to lessen the smell?
Asked by: Happysoon
The smell was never a problem for us. I believe the smell was gone in a week or two. Great floor..

My sample says Millstead and when I scan it, this product comes up,but this says it is Heritage Mill. Is this the same product? Please explain.

Asked by: Sprink
I believe this is the same flooring, and that one of the two is an older description. We had this wood first installed in our home a few years ago, and in other areas just recently. The older installation of the wood, and the current one both match, even though the names are different. On a side-note, please be aware that quarter-rounds, joiner strips and nose moldings will not match this color exactly, as they come from different manufacturers. Heritage Mill does make a nose molding that matches, but you need to request that up-front.

Customer Reviews

Oak Harvest 3/8 in. Thick x 4-1/4 in. Wide x Random Length Engineered Click Hardwood Flooring (20 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 188.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I felt this was a great product. I was hesitant to purchase this product as I read several reviews that said the quality control on this product was poor. I found just the opposite. I installed 600 square feet of the product in the family room, dining room, kitchen and entry and only found two boards that had slight defects but they were not total wastes as the most I needed to cut off them was maybe a foot and used the remainder as either starters or ends. The installation was somewhat harder than implied by "click" flooring. The secret to a good installation is achieving the "click" with a two pound rubber mallet. Love the floor, plan to continue and may end up doing the entire house except bathrooms.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Good I too have used this product in the past and was very happy with the quality and ease of installation therefore I did not hesitate to purchase it again when I decided to complete another room in my home. The lack of tand the removal of the locking plastic biscuit was a mistake on the companies part as the joints no longer have a positive even joint. Also, the quality of the planks has gone down hill and I had many planks that were nicked on their finish or the bottom (backing) were void of missing material. For the cost I will choose another company and product next time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product for a reasonable price Wife, daughter & I just completed installing 8 boxes in daughters home. I've installed & sold all types of flooring at various times over the past 35 years. I would rate this as a good engineered hardwood floor. The only real issue we had was some of the ends would not click in on the outer edge but once next board was installed it locked in but had a insignificant height difference at the corner. Not a big deal as floor looks nice especially with the beveled edges. We used Blue Hawk 2 in 1 cushion/moisture barrier on concrete slab. With natural oak T moulding, it looks fabulous!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Remodel I was pleased with the ease of installation with this product. Once I realized not to try to tap the pieces together like I read in a review, but to simply push and work the pieces together with my hands, it went together well without damaging the product. The one thing that I was not pleased with is that there were a few boxes out of about 30 total that had black roller feed looking streaks under the clear coat that made them mostly useless except for using a portion of the piece for an end filler. Overall the floor looks beautiful and was easy to lay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It takes a little elbow grease I totally agree with JeaninIndiana's review. The flooring doesn't simply "snap" into place but rather you need to use the installation kit and some elbow grease. The tongue and grooves must be perfectly alligned but if not with the first try, can be easily realligned. The first couple of rows are the most difficult but become easier with the additional weight of the floor. Make sure to let the floor acclimate for a few days in the house before installing. We have had these floors in our family room for several years and added them to the dining room last year and now finally to the living room this year. Love the durability and look and love the value even more. We have 2 dogs and the floors do not show scratch marks from their claws. They clean easily with a steam mop without damaging the wood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Floor We replaced our bamboo floor with this floor today and I am so disappointed. First, it is pink! It doesn't look at all like the sample we brought home or the larger sample on display at the store. The finish is uneven. It looks like we have two or three different types of wood and stains. There were an abundance of little pieces in our (30) boxes. Many pieces were splintered on sides and ends. Our professional installer shouldn't have used them, which makes me even more disgusted. It creaks and buckles when you walk on it. It scratches easier than our previous bamboo floor. Don't waste your money on this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never going to bother refinishing floors & just install this! We installed this flooring in a 18' 5" x 15' room in about 6 hours. It is a breeze to install - the longest part was running down the stairs and cutting the last board and opening the boxes and sorting the pieces. We didn't have an issue with boxes only having small pieces. As with laying any flooring it is really important to open several boxes and mix the boards. Also, we noticed a few of the boxes had 'starter' boards - either left or right. We assume that there was a mistake at the factory and they threw them in the box. They are labeled on the bottom of the board. We used Unison 2 in l underlayment which was a breeze to use but will be using Johnson foam for the rest of the bedrooms since it is going over hardwood and we don't need the moisture barrier. We purchased 15 boxes and had almost a box left over. If you plan and layout the boards right you will have next to no drop. Our drop only filled four inches in a garbage can.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very happy with purchase. Makes rooms look much better. Glad I did it. Experience I had shopping for product at Home Depot was excellent. Selected product, went on line and made my purchase. Shipping company delivered on time. No fuss no muss. Installation was easy -- measure, cut, click and snap. Now very happy made decision to use product and color. Also ordered new vacuum cleaner designed for use on wood floors. Everything we needed was at Home Depot.
