Just installed looks great but the smell. How long does it take for the fumes to disappear? What can I do to lessen the smell?
Asked by: Happysoon
The smell was never a problem for us. I believe the smell was gone in a week or two. Great floor..

What do you do about the noise? When I walk on the floor I hear cracking. I placed the foam sheet under the new floor. The subfloor is plywood t & g.

Asked by: Don
I'm sorry but the bad is the sub floor

Does this flooring have to be acclimated.

Asked by: Marie
Yes. The flooring expert I spoke to recommended 24-48 hours. I had mine delivered day days before it was installed.

I’m thinking about using this flooring as a bar top. Is this a bad idea and if so can you recommend something else?

Asked by: Ben
It may be susceptible to moisture damage from repeated spills/excessive clean up in an active bar area, so that use would be at your discretion.

Red Oak Natural 3/8 in. Thick x 4-1/4 in. Wide x Random Length Engineered Click Hardwood Flooring (20 sq. ft. /case) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 114.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never going to bother refinishing floors & just install this! We installed this flooring in a 18' 5" x 15' room in about 6 hours. It is a breeze to install - the longest part was running down the stairs and cutting the last board and opening the boxes and sorting the pieces. We didn't have an issue with boxes only having small pieces. As with laying any flooring it is really important to open several boxes and mix the boards. Also, we noticed a few of the boxes had 'starter' boards - either left or right. We assume that there was a mistake at the factory and they threw them in the box. They are labeled on the bottom of the board. We used Unison 2 in l underlayment which was a breeze to use but will be using Johnson foam for the rest of the bedrooms since it is going over hardwood and we don't need the moisture barrier. We purchased 15 boxes and had almost a box left over. If you plan and layout the boards right you will have next to no drop. Our drop only filled four inches in a garbage can.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quality control seriously needed Just for 100 Sq Ft, I had to buy 140 Sq Ft (7 cases) because many planks were shoddy. The backing of many had the last layer of ply with holes (more than an inch wide at times) and was badly serrated across the entire plank at times. The left or right edges were marred but I could use some as the starters by cutting off the unsightly ends. I did fill some with wood-filler and left overnight to dry. That way I could make some additional planks usable. Do keep in mind that I was not extremely picky otherwise I may have had to buy few more boxes :-( The frequency of marred top was not as bad as the bottom though many did have either small boils all over or small (size of a screw head) but deep dents. Both easily visible and unsightly to begin with. Picked up from Home Depot store directly. The bad planks were not limited to just one box. Cannot say if all the boxes came from same pallet. The floor does look good. There is no doubt about it.

We purchased this to match some we had left over from building our house 8 years ago. Although the brand name was different this matched exactly. It's very easy to put down and looks beautiful. This was installed over concrete with a vapor barrier between the concrete and the flooring. This is the next best thing to solid wood flooring. Better than laminate....

The variance in grain over all the pieces was good, and there was very little cut-off needed. Installation was floating floor but if I had to do it again, I would likely do the glue down.

I wasn't sure if it would match the rest of my flooring. It blended perfectly!! And at this point, appears to be a stronger quality as well!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Good I too have used this product in the past and was very happy with the quality and ease of installation therefore I did not hesitate to purchase it again when I decided to complete another room in my home. The lack of tand the removal of the locking plastic biscuit was a mistake on the companies part as the joints no longer have a positive even joint. Also, the quality of the planks has gone down hill and I had many planks that were nicked on their finish or the bottom (backing) were void of missing material. For the cost I will choose another company and product next time.

The box may include up to 5 length boars, most of them are full length boards.ent length of boards. each board comes with locking system, that allow to connect between them to create the wooden floor. the locking system is hard to use, and take too much time to connect the boards. you have to place the boards in 45 degrees, hammer them to align, and lower the new board contentiously hammer it in, till it locks. The boards must be strait / flat to fit into the previous raw, boards with bow would not fit easily. In my first batch of 9 boxes some boards were not completely flat, and require more time to align them I got boxes from another Home Depot, and those were fine. The price is great, but installation take much more time, in comparison to other brands that Home Depot carry (which are more expensive). The end result came up fine, but it took a lot of extra work

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I felt this was a great product. I was hesitant to purchase this product as I read several reviews that said the quality control on this product was poor. I found just the opposite. I installed 600 square feet of the product in the family room, dining room, kitchen and entry and only found two boards that had slight defects but they were not total wastes as the most I needed to cut off them was maybe a foot and used the remainder as either starters or ends. The installation was somewhat harder than implied by "click" flooring. The secret to a good installation is achieving the "click" with a two pound rubber mallet. Love the floor, plan to continue and may end up doing the entire house except bathrooms.
