Sturdy, not too heavy. The metal grate is not that strong so you might want to put a piece of wood in there to hold up something that might break through it. I used a simple two prong hanger to store this in my garage on the drywall via a stud since it's only about 30-something pounds. You'll want a device to tighten it up so that it doesn't rattle while you're driving. I accidentally backed into a snow drift with it, but it didn't do anything to the cargo tray. See amazon for a lot more reviews. Only took it on one trip so far but it worked perfectly. I'm glad it comes with the reflective red tape on it too. Easy to put together. It comes with a pin to secure it but I bought a locking one to help prevent it from being taken without a key.

I must admit I was a little skeptical about the cargo tray at first, but it turned out to be a fantastic find. While the manufacturer may have used a thicker steel to make it seem more robust, the design and ease of assembly made it worth every penny!

A good product that worked as intended. The sides could be a little taller and heavier but it worked for our airport luggage toting needs. Directions actually specified the bolts torques which I always appreciate. The hitch pin clip was a little loose so I just crimped it down in the vise. I added a carabiner and safety chain just in case that was short enough that it would not disengage which was never actually used.
