I needed multiple (40+) corrosion resistant screw eyes for use near a marine environment. The biggest challenge was in selecting/determining the "size" of the screw eye I needed. I learned that there are "trade" size standards, but they do not translate easily to the sizes available in stores. I finally went to HD and purchased several sizes to try out. I ended up with what is described as a #8 X 1-5/8 screw eye. This refers to the threaded portion being a #8 wood/lag screw size. The 1-5/8 is the overall length of the screw eye--not real helpful. What I was really interested in knowing is the inside diameter of the eye. It turns out that it is a little over 7/16 inch which is what I needed. The screw eyes are only available in 3-packs at the HD's I go to, but are available in boxes of 10 online. The first screw eye have been exposed outside for more than a month with no visible corrosion or discoloration. The product meets my expectations.

A little expensive, but need stainless for outdoor app.
