Product Details

Pop toggles work with various diameter sheet metal screws. They are ideal for anchoring into hollow base materials such as drywall. They are ideal for hanging electrical fixtures, drapery supports, bathroom/kitchen accessories, pictures, mirrors, and more. Pop toggles also hold strong in solid materials such as wood studs, concrete or block. The anchor is corrosion resistant, and a pre-drilled hole is required. Includes twenty (20) 5/8 in. anchors with #8 x 1-1/2 in. screws. Maximum working load for 5/8 in. drywall is 80 lbs.
  • For drywall, plaster, and tile
  • Holds strong even if solid material is hit
  • Not recommended for ceiling applications
  • Use with stainless or brass screws in wet climates
  • When anchor is flush, use provided pin to expand anchor behind drywall
  • For vibration and shock loads, reduce working load by a safety factor of 4
  • 20 anchors per package
  • Wall thickness 5/8 in. - 3/4 in.

Q:Can these be used to secure solar panels on top of an RV roof. Plywood is about 1/4 inch thick.

A:  Hello, We recommend choosing a different anchor for material that is 1/4" thick. Also this is an assortment of anchors. For this particular assortment of anchors, the material depth needs to be between 5/8" & 3/4" thick. Thank you for your inquiry!

    Q:The setting pin won't pop the anchor no matter how hardI push it. Is it ok to go ahead and use the screw? Will the screw make the anchor pop open?

    A:  Hi, and thank you for your question. The setting tool should activate the anchor as long as the material depth is between 5/8 & 3/4" thick, if it is thicker the anchor might not be able to set. Typically the screw will set the anchor but we encourage the tool to ensure it sets completely.

      A:  These settling pins are so strong. Once they are in place, no movement. Very sturdy!!!!! I installed a glass shelf in one of my bathrooms and in the process of moving I went to remove them and they wouldn't come out of the wall. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

        A:  This has occasionally happened to me. I have done what you suggested, screw into the anchor.  The screw will expand the anchor inside the wall

          A:  I don't know if using the screw will cause the anchor to pop open. I have to admit that I hit the pin with a hammer to make it open. That worked in every instance. It happened about 10 times.

            A:  If the anchor doesn't open, it is either defective or it is not all the way through the wall (wrong size or hitting something). Wouldn't think it will hold.

                A:  The yellow stick is to flip open the anchor after it's put in the wall.

                A:  Thank you for your interest in Hillman products. After the anchor is installed this part is used to open the wings of the pop toggle--it is inserted where the screw is inserted.

                  Horrible DON’T BUY
                  Purchased these “pop-toggles” to use instead of toggle bolts. Totally useless! First tried using to install a towel rod on a hollow door, and second time for installing a shelf bracket on sheet rock wall. Both times made huge holes for nothing. These toggles do not work! You can’t turn screws to set properly, ending up having to start over, having to re patch large wall holes and paint as necessary. Have never used a more useless product. DON’T BUY!!

                    Heaven sent wall anchors
                    I tried wingets before trying these and holy cow these are so much easier and you dont have a crater in your wall. I have put up a lot of handicap bars in my elderly Mothers house and they are easy and very sturdy. Wont yse any other anchors from now on.
