Questions & Answers

How much workload can it handle?
ByFeb 2, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

HIT‑HY 100 is designed for light‑duty anchoring applications. It’s commonly used for light structural steel connections (such as small beams or columns) and rebar doweling, and it performs well in both cracked and uncracked concrete and grout‑filled CMU. The exact load it can handle depends on factors like rod diameter, embedment depth, edge distance, and base material condition, which was not provided. Please contact 877-529-7912 with the details to better assist you.

      Answer This Question

Every store is laid out differently so it would be best to either look on HD.com and it will provide the location or ask an associate at the ProDesk while in store. They can locate this and other Hilti products such as dispenser for the epoxy.

would this be good to use for soft brick. I need to attach a banister to a TH built in 1905.

          Answer This Question

Mi Mark, HY 100 has not been tested in brick. HIT 1, HY 10+, and HY 270 are our best options for brick and masonry in general.

Product is excellent and available in store. The gun, manual or battery powered, to dispense is not available in store. The product can be dispensed by hand and mixed manually on a piece of cardboard (not included, hah). 3:1 epoxy:hardener, worked well Tried with the mixing tube by hand, but had no control of the rate/proportions.

The engineer called for it, so its what we used. True to spec, it was completely cured in an hour at the air temp we had that day, and we could move on to other projects. The guns are pricey, but the Germans know how to make some seriously high quality kit.

It was expired, and we couldn't use it. I was paying an inspector to be onsite to watch and document epoxy anchors so not only am I waiting for a refund from Home Depot, but I am also going to have to back charge Home Depot for the cost of the Inspector for the wasted day.

I bought two of them. Both of them were expire. Non of them had the expiration date. As soon as I apply the epoxy, it dry up quickly and went really hard in less than one minute. HILTI is a great product but the ones I bought in the Home Depot of CAGUAS PUERTO RICO were expire and I guess the whole inventory is the same (poor inventory quality control).
