29.53 in. 780 CFM Ducted Wall Mount Range Hood in Stainless Steel With Gesture Sensing Control Function

We wanted to replace our old over the range microwave with a real range hood to open up the space and get stronger venting functionality. The good: This range hood was well packaged and arrived in good condition. I appreciated that the unit came with an 6 inch flexible vent hose. All the stainless parts were covered in protective plastic. Construction and metal quality was good. Vent suction is strong and noise level is not too loud. The mesh grates are well designed. Overall the unit looks great in the kitchen and complements other stainless accents. The not so good: This range hood features a gesture function that is supposed to let you turn the fan speed up and down. The feature does not work on my unit. Second, the LED lights are not bright enough. I found this frustrating as I view lamp brightness as important so you can see what you are cooking. I would classify the brightness of the lamps as more of a night light. Otherwise, the installation was pretty straightforward and standard. We opted not to use the chimney pieces since our kitchen has an overhead chase we didn’t want to remove and allowed us to route the vent to an appropriate exterior location. The unit comes with a remote but I honestly can’t think of a reason it needs one. We added a louvered vent to the exterior of the house to complete the install.

This is for my garage where I do some work. I already have one for one area and I'm buying a second for a second area. Can't beat the price for the quality and suction power. Also, on speed one is very quiet, can hardly hear it. I really want the quiet feature as I don't want to make noise possibly bothering others. Very pleased. I've had three range hoods delivered so far from HD, all arrived in good condition.

Despite pretty good packaging the item arrived damaged. It was pretty obvious from the large hole in the box that was taped over it was damaged prior to shipping. This was the third damaged item in a row that I received from Home Depot. As a contractor this is an unbelievable waste of my time and costs far more than any possible savings. No more.

i LIKE THE DESIGN, TOUCH FUNCTION OF OPEN, CLOSE AND CHANGE THE RANGE BY WAVING HAND. THIS IS AWESOME. AND THIS IS MADE IN CHINA BUT IT LOOKS GREAT. THE ONLY THING IS SUCTION FLOW SPEED CAN'T TELL EXACTLY 780CFM BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE INSTRUMENT. ANYWAY THIS HOOD IS LOOKING GOOD.

Very difficult to install, very bad design, cheap material.
