Shark Bite Hold Rite Standard ½” PEX Clamp – These clamps are one piece with (2) nail or screw holes that open in the center on the back…They can either be spread open to install the PEX tubing or mounted to a solid surface with nails or screws then the PEX tubing pulled or pushed through the opening...These PEX clamps are equal to one piece PEX clamps manufactured by Oatey…There is not a lot to write about one piece PEX clamps, they either perform as indicated, intended and expected or they do not perform at all…I tested these PEX clamps by installing them on 2x lumber then using a combination of pushing and pulling the PEX tubing through the clamps…I used hex head screws as my method of attachment and I did not tighten the screws completely allowing the PEX clam to remain loose making pushing and pulling the PEX tubing easier...The performed as indicated, intended and expected without any clamps breaking from stress or strain...

I got these ½” Plastic Standard Clamps to help organize the ½” vinyl supply lines I use in my hydroponic greenhouse. These will work nicely on the wooden ebb and flow table I just built. The 25 pack is nice and convenient to have on hand. As packaged, the pack arrives shrink wrapped so when it says 25 it means 25. The labeling is all business and clearly identifies what is inside the container. The clamps have a separation on the bottom allowing them to expand and contract simplifying installation. They are also predrilled for mounting screws or nails. I tried these with a short, new section of ½” vinyl tubing. The fit is snug but not restrictive. My pumps do not put out a lot of pressure so this will be great. I see nothing stating that these are made from materials that are UV resistant but have no reason to believe that they will not hold up in the greenhouse. These are great. Things are getting so orderly around here.

These are a great product for use in installing PEX tubing for plumbing (and other products). I also purchased them in 3/4. Since they are full circle they are perfect for installing tubing to floor joists (between joists) and the ribbing inside the circle of the clamp, does a good job of isolating the tubing which helps prevent noise transmission into the structure they're attached to. My only dislike is the lack of hardware (screws or nails). Because of this, it can be difficult to make installation as you need to hold the tubing in place and try to set nails in the provided holes. If you opt to use small screws, isn't much easier in many areas particularly if your working in tight quarters. Some fasteners or staples, have nails provided, fit tightly into the holes of the plastic. This frees up a hand to hold the tubing while you drive the nail. It also prevents whacking a finger trying to hold small nails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The box of Holdrite, 1/2 inch plastic standard clamps is a more economical way to purchase these clamps. They come 25 in a box and that is a good amount for a small project and are very reasonably priced. They do a great job of supporting any tubing with a 1/2 inch outer diameter. I have used these with PEX tubing but they will also work with PE-RT tubing, Copper, CPVC and conduit. I don’t know what type of plastic they are made from but they seem very strong and I can't see how they would break. I prefer to use plastic clamps to prevent any corrosion from dissimilar metals touching. I like to use small screws instead of nails when installing the clamps. The small nail holes are convenient to hold in a small screw making it easier to use in a tight space. These clamps have a one year warranty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in these clamps. Designed for clamping around pipes (water / gas / electrical ) the ... Disappointed in these clamps. Designed for clamping around pipes (water / gas / electrical ) the stated diameter of the clamp is the actual diameter of the clamp, in other words, a 1/2" clamp would address the INSIDE diameter of a 1/2" pipe rather than the outside diameter of the pipe, which is either a dumb design or a labeling problem. So, a 3/4" clamp has to be purchased for a 1/2" pipe, etc. Label does not indicate any weather resistance for these clamps so they probably should not be used outdoors or in extreme temp applications. No indication of what material the clamps are made - 6/6 Nylon? Recycled plastics? Durability is therefore unknown. No indication of where the clamps are made - China? USA? This vendor is not yet ready for the home improvement market; these clamps might be expected to be found in a dollar store, but not a Home Depot.

I believe that the Holdrite company has to rephrase the title of the product "1/2 in. Plastic Standard Clamp", because at first look customers think that it is used for standard pipes or conduits, but it is not. It is not for standard regular 1/2 inch PVC pipes or conduits; it will not fit. It only supports 1/2 in. copper tubes, PE-RT, PEX, and CPVC tubing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am restoring a very old home and have replaced all the water lines with PEX. I had been using the the plastic clamps that have one nail on one side. They work fine vertically, when they are only holding the PEX in place, but tend to break horizontally, when they have to carry weight (see pic). I got these for horizontal runs. I used 3/4" screws, that I was able to set before mounting (see pic). Screwing is much easier, than trying to swing a hammer in a tight space. The screws being on both side, balance out the load. The only downside of screws, do not over screw or they will break (but if that happens, remove the screw and add a small washer).

Pipes can't come loose, but can slip a little as they expand. 2-screw support is best. Yeah, you could use bent nails. Or old snowmobile belts like the guy who built my house. But a truly neat job needs a selection of good pipe clips, and this type is excellent in nearly all situations. I also use these to group and guide wires. I have one by the desk to hang a pair of pliers. Many uses. The clips are rated by the "trade size" of copper (and PEX) pipe, which is bigger than you might expect. A '1/2' clip takes pipe 0.625 inches; a '3/4' clip takes up to 0.875 inch pipe.
