bad rap
I have used every ground stake from all the big box stores. This is my favorite by a long shot. Heres a tip. Pre bend them in the house where you and the stakes are warm. All Plastic this thin gets brittle in the cold. Also when you push them in the ground press on the top of the stake not the part that bends. These should all be common sense things to do. But judging by the reviews. Im going to guess not. Ive attached pics of my display. I put over 1000 lights on the perimeter of my yard. Trust me i know a thing or two about light stakes.

Either plan on buying 10% more than you need or find another manufacturer for these. I had 6 out of 100 break at the top where the stake is supposed to "snap" into place. They snapped all right.......right off. These may be good for only one season, if that. There are at least 6 more cracked halfway through the joint.
What really angered me the most is I went back to Home Depot for more stakes on November 27th. They were completely out at the Georgetown store with no plans to order more. And this after I had to make TWO trips to their store for lights that they showed in stock but couldn't find.

Home Depot should be ashamed for selling this trash
These are absolute garbage. They claim to be for C9 lights but they crack almost every time i try to insert a light. After breaking 15 I gave up and went to buy a different type.

Good thing I bought extra boxes!! These break just trying to bend over the top to lock it, they DO NOT fit C7 or C9 string lights!!!! And anything smaller they are too big. One time use only!! I wish they made metal ones.

They help make my yard look beautiful at Christmas!
Much better than the crummy green ones of years past that constantly break. A little challenging to get the light's hook on it, but once you get a rhythm going, not too difficult at all. I have over 100 lawn lights, and I'm very picky about having them nice, neat, and even.

don't get
we bought seven boxes this year. I just put them away and three boxes are empty because that's how many broke. and they broke while we were setting them up. so three boxes didn't even make it to set up for the season. I mean they're cheap, but that's ridiculous.

easy to use
We line the perimeter of the yard every year for Christmas and we couldn't find the stakes we normally use so we bought these. They're pretty sturdy and easy to use but if you aren't careful, the part that holds the bulb can break.
