How far apart from each other do brackets need to be installed on the wall to hold a standard curtain? Are 3 meters ok?

That would be too far. I'd put them about 5 feet apart maximum unless your rod is extremely rigid.

Each hook comes in two pieces and its distance from the wall can be adjusted somewhat. It _looks_ like you'll be able to get 5 inches clearance, but I'm not positive.

It's a bracket to hold up curtain rods and it does its job. It is in two pieces and it is easier to install if you take it apart, attach the part that screws onto the wall then attach the part that holds the curtain rod.

Easy to install, and love the adjustable slider arm. Only down side is they aren't very sturdy. I hung these from my roof to put in a very long (12ft) room divider. I hung three of these brackets to support the light weight curtain and rod. Long story short, it although it is staying up for now (been up about a week and a half), I did have to use pliers to re-curve the bracket scoop so that the rod wouldn't fall out. Similarly, the 'tension screw' or whatever you'd call it doesn't do much. The tighter I make it, the more it un-curves the scoop.
