I would like this to be as close to flush to the ceiling as possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty and well made I finally decided to replace the old outdated light above the main entrance door and I’m glad I chose this one. This light is very stylish and made of good materials. The design is well thought of with a few different options for hanging. The length of the light can be modified by adding or removing 1-3 of the tubes. The light can also be hung on pitched ceilings with different angles. There is a small part that adjusts (see my photos), so the light hangs straight down. Although the light bulbs are not included, this fixture supports 3 regular size (E26 base) bulbs. In my old fixture I had three 40 watt (small base) bulbs and it wasn’t bright enough. Now, I installed three 60 watt (equivalent) fluorescent bulbs and it’s finally nice and bright. There is also a frosted glass diffuser that covers the bulbs from the bottom. Installation was as easy as any other light fixture. All the hardware (mounting bracket, screws, nuts, bolts, washers, etc.) was included. The installation guide is clear, thorough and has pictures / diagrams. Overall, this is a very nice looking light fixture. The materials are of good quality and the color is nice – somewhere in between a golden bronze. The mesh is made of steel along with the rest of the light and nothing feels fragile. I am extremely happy with this light fixture and will leave it hanging for many years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeping the style! The Home Decorators Collection   3-Light Matte Gold with Cream Fabric Shade Pendant "Modern elegance" Lamp was well packaged and arrived promptly. It was easy to install and has beautiful, warm lighting from the three led bulbs. The fixture has an adjustable length from flush to low hanging. I love the mid century style and this light was the perfect compliment to our dining room. I only wish the shade was seamless. The first time it was hung, the seam was very visible. I had to rotate and reattach the shade which was simple, just time consuming. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the look and quality of the light fixture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy Without being Flashy This is an easy review to write because this pendant was easy to install and looks great. First, one of the only major downsides was the packaging. While it protected the pendant properly, it was cheap styrofoam. The kind that breaks apart and flies everywhere. Annoying but one can deal with it. We wanted to replace a boring schoolhouse fixture installed in our "grand" central stairwell. It's not that grand really, but the old schoolhouse fixture was pretty bland and not a great fit for the space. This pendant can be set at 3 lengths and we chose the shortest option. By doing so, I had to shorten the electrical wires. So, plan for that and have some wire snippers on hand to ease that task. The install is very straightforward. You Install the mounting bracket to the ceiling box, make the connections, and attach the fixture. It's something that didn't require looking at the instructions. One area of improvement would be the mounting method. It requires someone holding the fixture in the air while the other person makes the connections and attaches the fixture to the ceiling. That's fine but there are better methods out there where 1 person can do it all without help. Not so in this case but I only needed a 2nd pair of hands for about 5 minutes. The fixture is pretty light so it's not a big deal to hold it in the air for a short time. We used three 40 watt LED bulbs (the flat Philips type) and they look good! The fixtures feels pretty good quality-wise and I don't have any fears of it dying on us. It's made of metal and glass and the gold color is very deep. A minor (very minor) gripe would be the seam on the shade. I didn't see the seam when installing the fixture but, when turned on, it is visible. This could be accommodated during the install and it could be turned so it's visibility is diminished. Minor peeve and I *might* adjust it someday, but really probably not. Overall, very pleased and our stairwell is slowly coming around to looking a little classier!

I do not have a very big dinning room, but I wanted something gold to give it a modern flare to my dinning room. However with the Anaglypta turner Tile Paintable Wallpaper from Home Depot, the there is a certain elegance that the light brings to the room. Easy to install and works well with rheostat lighting.
