    A:  Thanks for your question. A plywood top is not necessarily required but the vanity top does need to be supported. The installation guide states: "Use additional interior supports if the vanity is frameless or does not have full support around the frame. Your granite, marble or travertine vanity top is heavy natural stone. Additional wood supports should be 1” x 2” and affixed to the sides with caulking adhesive and short wood screws that do not protrude through any exposed sides."           A:  Thanks for your question. This size top does not have the option of an offset sink bowl (only 37" has the offset.) We do not recommend cutting the tops because it cannot be warrantied if it's altered.

            A:  The bowl is centered in the 49" top. In order to have a centered bowl in a 40" top, you'd have to cut 4&1/2" from each end of the top and 9" from the separate backsplash. It is granite. Cutting this down and making it look professional isn't a DIY kind of job unless you have experience.

              It was delivered intact. I read other reviews where the vanity top arrived damaged but we were lucky I guess. It looks great, no complaints here. My issue is the fact that I applied sealent 2 times but it still seems to absorb water in becomes darker grey in those areas until it dries out. I'm gonna give it another try with the sealant and see how it goes.

              I ordered vanity top for guest bathroom to update the cultured marble top that was very yellow & showing its age (20 years). 1st vanity top was broken. Suggest CHECKING your vanity top before taking home from HD. 2nd vanity was good. Installation was a good DIY project most can do themselves.

                This was my first time working with granite so my review is from a novice perspective. That being said the color is a light grey which is exactly what I wanted. I had to cut it down to 48” in width from the 49” using a 4” ryobi wet saw it cut like butter. I masked the top surface with painters tape and it was just fine. I also added the side splashes and it really finishes the job. I like this top so much that when I redue the other two bathrooms in my house I am getting similar tops form them as well.

The first one came in cracked, the second one came in shattered, and now I am waiting to see if the third time really is the charm. It looked beautiful broken in the box, so I am really hoping I get to see this all together in my bathroom!

                      Got vanity top on an online sale. Beautiful! This granite vanity top is made for a half inch overlap on each side of cabinet. If you are butting it up against a wall on one side it will require a cabinet modification for the top to fit flush because of wash basin interference with cabinet. You will have to route out cabinet wall underneath.
