Questions & Answers

What size drill bit do I need to use?

What size drill bit do I need to use for the anchors into my drywall? I don't understand why it doesn't say this anywhere on the package? I called the number listed on the package and of course they are only open during normal business hours. I want to get this project done now. Please help.
Asked by: mnmomma
Size of drill bit all depends on whether you are able to find a stud to attach the tie backs or you have to put the plugs in the Sheetrock first for added strength with no studs. I believe I used a 3/8” bit for mine. Hope that helps.

Does the set have two pieces (one for each side of windows)?

Asked by: Gbapa
Yes. There are two holdbacks per package.

Is this set good for outdoor use?

I’m looking for a holdback for my screen porch. Is this product rust resistant?
Asked by: JB
Certainly not. Mine started getting rusted after less than 18 months of having them installed indoors.

Do the anchors need pre drilled holes.

Do i need to drill holes for the anchors or are they meant to be self drilling. There are no directions what so ever for them.
Asked by: Spike
Pre-dilled holes recommended (by the instructions and by me). If you don't, the anchors will make a mess of your drywall because they displace a lot of material (they are wide).
