Can this fan be mounted on an angled ceiling?

Asked by Lemon August 28, 2020
1
Answer

Yes, up to about 18 degrees. If you are too steep you will need to purchase an adapter for slope ceilings for ceiling fans. Home depot does carry these kits if necessary.

Answer

This sounds really bad. I think there may be something wrong that you cannot fix unless your junction box is loose. I would recommend exchanging because it should not be this hard to balance and even if you did it should be just a slight wobble you'd have to correct.

can you use this fan outdoor covered patio

Asked by z71 July 19, 2020

Answer

It is not rated for outside use so that is a decision you'd have to make. I think it would work fine but being exposed to the elements may shorten the life somewhat.

What is the degree rake angle?

What signal type is the remote for this fan?

Radio Frequency.

Can a wall switch be added to this fan?

Asked by tkopes May 28, 2020

No wall switch can be added other than just an on/off switch. This fan is a DC motor and can only be operated via the remote.

Can I use a longer down rod with this fan? If so, which down rods are compatible?

Asked by Christina July 19, 2019

Answers

OH yeah, definitly can use a longer down rod. I found a long one at home depot and the fan has plenty of slack in the wires.

We requested this fan so that we could install a simple fan fixture in our enclosed porch at the front of our house to keep it more comfortable during the hotter summer months. Normally the porch gets up to over 100F during that time of the year and opening the windows doesn't always fix that. So hopefully having this fan in there to force the air to circulate will cool it down some.

This fan has a unique 2 blade design versus the 4, 5 or 6 blade design. It was easy to install. It did have a few more connections due to the receiver for the remote being the main connection between the fan and your electrical wiring. Overall, it has your basic fan mounting bracket that the hanger ball sits in and the wiring. To be honest, I had more trouble taking down the old fan due to the old direct mounting bracket and the weight of the old fan than I did installing the new one. Overall, the instructions were fairly clear and installation did not take that long. The fan blades are kind of distressed grayish blades. Looks kind of like weathered wood to me. the main housing is a matte black. It looks really good in the upstairs bonus room as it updated the look of our media room by allowing us to take out the fancier looking silver fan with dark blades. I am very surprised at how well the two blades move air compared to the old 5 blade fan. It has a remote to control turning the fan on/off, speed of the rotation with 6 settings and the direction of the fan whether it is pulling the air up or pushing it down. So to round out the pros, it looks good, was easy to install, has good air flow and comes with a remote. Cons. For me, having the remote is a con. I have installed many smart switches around the house to use with automation including some fan controllers. I could turn the fan on/off and change the speed of the fan by voice automation. That is lost due to the receiver being the main control point as it controls the power that gets sent to the three different motors. My only other con is that is does not have a light kit or light available for this particular fan. It is understandable given how the fan is designed. The old fan had a four bulb light kit and then we have two can lights in the bonus room. Now we are down to just the two can lights. We will have to get a lamp or two to set out for extra light if needed. This was not a deal breaker for us, but felt it should be mentioned. (An observation for anyone using smart fan switches. ***having the smart fan controller in the wall set to 100% and using the remote to set the fan to max setting of 6, I noticed an odd issue with the fan wanting to stop and then try to restart. As it would approach full speed, it would stop again. I set the fan controller to 50% and then I was able to use all 6 speed settings from the remote. While I did change the fan controller power settings, the actual fan speed never changed based on that fan controller. I have not tried setting it to just the on/off switch that controlled the old fan light. I may try that next, but wanted to note for anyone that may be using smart switches.) final thoughts... I'm happily writing this review while sitting in the media/bonus room under the fan. Really enjoying the airflow.

I’m tires of using portable fans in the den, so decided to install the Alderbrook 60 in. Indoor Ceiling Fan with Remote Control. The continuous, dual blade design with matt black color is very aesthetic and reminds me of an airplane propeller. The Direct Current (DC) Motor is whisper quiet, and surprisingly puts out an impressive 5146 cfm of air and is perfectly balanced. The remote control is very user friendly, and comes with 6 speeds, forward/reverse mode, and a mounting sleeve to help keep track of the remote. Installation instructions are very detailed, with lots of graphic illustrations. Installation is somewhat difficult with the added step of wiring the remote control module. Operation of the fan is by remote control only, so I mounted the sleeve in a convenient place to store the remote Overall, I am very pleased with the quality and functionality of the ceiling fan, and I recommend it for large rooms. It comes with a lifetime warranty for the DC Motor, and two years on the remaining parts.

Wow!!! This Alderbrook 60 in. Indoor Matte Black three speed Ceiling fan with Remote Control is seriously cool!! Even the remote looks nice. The design is, by far, the most interesting for these economics. Installation is a bit more advanced with all the extra details of this fan. It has a unique two blade design and 60 inch wingspan. It includes a 4.5 inch extension if you wanna drop it low, but not too low. I wish it had a light kit, but I already have high hat lamps installed...so all good! This thing flies!

It is not our first fan from Home Decorators and as everything else from them it is exceptional. The shipping was very fast and the packaging excellent, as you can see on the picture. The fan has a very unique two wooden blades, but not a light kit. It has a DC motor, very quiet and energy efficient. The fan has three speeds and a hand held remote, which controls not only speed, but direction as well. The installation was done by professional electrician without any problems whatsoever. We would highly recommend this fan to everyone.

Looking for a modern/industrial simple ceiling fan and this one seemed to fit the look. I did make some modifications during the install. The box around the motor we didn't really like, too Star Trek looking for us. I pushed the wires in the down rod and left that off, it's cheap plastic anyway. That gave us an even more simple look we were going for. The other requirement was the top of the blades match the bottom. Most fans we bought and returned was because we can see the top of the fan because it's installed in a two story foyer. This fan does match the top with the bottom, CHECK! We installed with a 36" down rod. I do not like remotes for ceiling fans; just one more remote to keep up with. This cannot be installed without the remote, I had to loose the wall switch we already had and screw this ugly remote to the wall. I wish it would have the option to install without the remote.

Absolutely beautiful!!! It was a bit of a struggle to put together but once complete you will become obsessed with it. It runs smooth you will barely know it’s running. I haven’t had to put it above the number 1 setting, it cools the entire room. Grey barn wood color is stunning, many compliments!

I love this fan. It moves s lot of air. If you don't need a light on your fan get this one. It looks interesting and really moves the air around. It has 6 speeds and works great even with my 10 foot high ceilings.
