Belmont Greige 8 ft. x 10 ft. Solid Shag Area Rug

We’ve been looking for just the right rug for our family room. This one is perfect! Super soft and a true greige color ties ithe whole room together. 10/10 would recommend

We haven't had a shag rug in quite a while but the Home Decorators' Belmont Greige shag rug was a nice addition to our home. The synthetic fibers are quite soft to the touch but the rug is machine made which left several long strings of thread but they are harmless. We have the 5X7 Greige - a combination of gray and beige- which has a thick pile 1 1/3 inches high. I wonder if the company reworked their carpet because I have not had any loose fibers shed or fall off as previous reviewers stated. It hides the dirt very well, especially here in the Pacific Northwest when pine needles, mud and wet leaves make their way into the house. This rug looks great in our living room but it can be put in any room of your home- kids' room, playroom, and bedroom. I gave this rug my "rolling chair" test and was surprised to see that our office chair rolled smoothly through the thick rug, so now I can honestly say that it would work well in any office. I recommend this rug as an accent to any room! The only reason I didn't give this rug 5 stars is because it has small loops which haven't caused a problem for our dogs but I wonder if a toenail might get stuck in one.

We got this rug to go beside our bed, but it wound up in front of our fireplace. It is thick, soft and feels very good to getting out bed with a cold floor and standing in front of the fireplace. The shag type loops are excellent quality and look great. We unwrapped it, rolled it out and started using it immediately. It would be great by the bed as well on our hardwood floors. It matches the fireplace rock well an make for a comfortable place to lay and watch TV. Nice soft rug

We got this rug after seeing it online and when it arrived the color was better than expected. The color is called "Greige" and that's a good description because it's a greyish tint of the normal beige color. The pile is thick and feels nice under foot. The pile has an almost silky feel when you walk on it in bare feet. The backing is very sturdy and when you put a non-skid pad under it it is really comfortable.

This rug looks great at first glance, but the impression fades rather quickly. The rug looks like it's soft and plush, but then you realize the shag provides an illusion of plushness that isn't there and the rug feels rather thin when standing on it. The fibers themselves seem to be coated with some sort of chemical meant to perhaps reduce staining (?) and when in contact with a bare hand or foot it imparts a rather odd sensation to the skin; not exactly tacky or sticky, but, well..."weird" is the only way to describe the sensation. The rug has what I deem an inordinate number of errant pulled threads and loops that aren't separated from the rug itself and which were too easily found when running my hand across the pile. This contributes to a bit of a sloppy look and speaks to QC that seems to be lacking in the manufacture of the rug. Unfortunately for our three dogs, these errant looped threads also result in snagged nails and a frightened and potentially injured pup when s/he tries to pull free too vigorously. Because of all this, we've relegated the rug to our basement entry from the garage. Maybe the rug we received was just a one-off example and not the norm, but I can't recommend this for anything other than maybe a dorm room where you want/need something to cover the standard hard-surface floors (and aren't likely to have pets).

This Home Decorators rug is a shag rug in "greige" (grey/beige but also with a brown tint). It is soft to the touch and has a soft neutral color too. The backing is nice-- a rug gripper pad under is it is not really necessary. It is 5 x 7 feet and looks luxurious. Since it is a shag, I'm not sure how it would hold up to heavy traffic. But it looks great and no shedding thus far. It is made in Egypt.

This has been headache since it was places in the house. Little pieces of carpet are everywhere throughout the house. I would not recommend this carpet to anyone it appears and feels soft but don’t get tricked. Wish I could return it since I waisted $300plus on it.

Buyer beware! It doesn’t even warrant 1 star and I would give all 0’s if possible. This rug will come to pieces and has not even lasted in our house 3 months! There are loose piling strings everywhere. We do not have it in a high traffic area and I would hate to clean the mess it would leave if it were in a living room or den. Totally cheap and basically worthless. I have never saw a rug or Capet come apart like this has and I wouldn’t buy another product from Home Decorators Collection again!
