The Brand of the FAN is NOT the important thing. Many fans use Third Party remotes purchased separately THAT IS THE CRUCIAL THING. Make sure you can return this device I have a feeling that there will be a lot of problems. The Range of the RF signal from the Bond device is also CRITICAL.
From what I just found out Bond is somehow associated with Samsung and this works with their smart things app. Native google home support is on or off and no light controls. However, if you already have a samsung account because you've got a samsung product (I have a robo vac) the integration with smart things (to google) is superior to Bond's own app so if you install the bond hub in smart things google can then turn the fan on/off and turn the light on/off. Smart things has fan speed control and light on/off this fan has light dimmer controls I haven't gotten to work yet i probably just haven't found the right firmware. I'm about to call them since home depot was/is actually selling this hub as a package with the fans I have so you would logically think they wouldn't do that if it wasn't working perfectly with all functions (or is that too much logic?).
As of Nov 2020 it works with smart things a lot better than with google.
The remotes need to be on separate channels to not interfere, I don't know how many are available but if there are more than six channels then the bond will control them individually
Well, for me, I have it working with a Casablanca Bel Aire & a couple of Hampton Bay ceiling fans.
Testing was done in a 2500 sq foot home with the Bond centrally located. That provided coverage for all connected devices.
No, the blades are cherry on one side and light grey on the other side.
It "should" work anyplace you have wifi coverage and at the same distances your current remote works. The fans themselves don't talk on the network they still have to be able to hear the radio signals the bond is sending. I have a 1200 sq foot house with two fans but there is a wall between them. Range depends so much on what is in your walls and other interference from other appliances and the neighbors frequency pollution you just have to try it.
Only if your remote supports it. If the fan only has a physical switch, you would still need to physically change the switch. It works fine if it is a simple toggle switch on the remote (toggles between clockwise and counterclockwise). If the remote has separate buttons for summer and winter (which the Fanimation Covert 64 does with the TR205 remote), then setup doesn't handle automatically and there is not a good way to setup with a non standard remote like this. You can manually program app buttons using the remote, but they can't be relabeled, so not really practical to use as hard to remember. I have put in feature request to Bond to add ability to customize button names. The app on your smart phone supports it, not sure about whether the Alexa skill supports reversing direction.
yes, you tell alexa what speed, high, medium or low. If you have a 6 position fan you'll can ask alexa to "turn fan on 4"
