Chatham 1-Drawer White Nightstand

I was pleasantly surprised at this beautiful piece of furniture! This is a real piece of furniture! Not lightweight , I could push it but not pick it all the way up in the air. You may need a hand truck to move this furniture if you are doing it by yourself. . I love the way the company packaged it ,so that it wouldn't fall out the box from the bottom- they had a lightweight pallet underneath it. No nicks or scratches because they packed it well! Beautiful finish on it, the craftmanship shows! The drawer pulls was an excellent choice, they fold down into the furniture so you can't bump into them. The drawer is quite wide and spacious. The color of the pulls and corner edges of the drawer is top shelf and are very stylish and gives it a glamourous look. You have 2 open shelves to use for various things like your cell phone , glasses, books, alarm clock or sound machine, etc. The night stand came already assembled.This company makes a quality product and i'm looking into purchasing other products from the Chatham collection!

Great for a young girls room , Its totally Glam ! which isn't so much my style but my daughter loves it. It's much larger and heavier than I thought it would be, which is much welcomed. Its really solid including the back and drawer bottoms to, and I'm glad to see thats there's a 1 year warranty. It arrived with the finish in perfect condition. A great contemporary piece that lends itself to diverse uses. This furniture is well-constructed (comes fully assembled) and simplistic. The back panel is but 3mm or similar material but rigorously affixed, rendering the nightstand very rigid. These case work is comprised of nominal 1/2" dense material (I suspect an MDF-like substrate). This too is quite strong and the shelves do not deflect. The drawer glides well without sophisticated hardware. You'll anticipate a long service life for this furniture from the moment you move it into place and feel its substantial heft. All surfaces bear a phenolic type coating that resists mars but is scrubbable and serves as an excellent base for decorating efforts; be they adhesive appliques, opaque finishes or faux effects. The style is contemporary and utilitarian. It seems well-suited to juvenile suites where the occupants are still eclectic in their furniture style preferences and may want to decorate it further. And it is quite amenable to those artisans who may want to do likewise. Originally I envisioned putting this in my office as a printer stand. The top is large enough to support my multi-function device and label printers at the right height. The drawer readily holds cartridges and labels while the shelves accommodate reams of special papers and a few folders and binders. But I was stymied at re-purposing my extant printer stand. Then I realized that the nightstand's 18" depth permitted me to use it within one of the closets in my office. There it nestles neatly behind sliding doors and contains references and tote bags on top, some office light bulbs, camera accessories and batteries within the drawer, and various measuring and test equipment (M&TE) instruments and safety (PPE) gear I use for field work on its shelves. This gives me a good looking readily maintained convenient place to grab my stuff and go - and return and stow it quickly without cluttering my truck cab. The furniture height also lets me preserve the upper shelf in that closet and actually cluster some work wear and safety clothes right above it. In that way this (probably originally intended for) free-standing nightstand, has helped me efficiently modularize one of my office closet interiors in a very functional way.

The actual size is 33.07 long by 21.06 deep and 33.06 high. Even though this states nightstand I plan on using it under a high window as a bookcase. It is white with shiny gold trim and just gorgeous. Please do not be deceived as this is really a small chest. If you knew how you could even add glass doors , perhaps wavy type glass , two doors that meet in the middle and use it even in a kitchen, anywhere. That is what struck me when I unpacked it. You could store clothes on it, really anything, even use it as a 30 inch television stand. It is sturdy and heavy, weighing in at 82.5 pounds shipping weight. One person cannot move it, well, not me. The big thing is if you have a white kitchen or bathroom, think of using this piece. I wish I knew someone to add the glass doors, sliding or the ones that open up, the piece is really timeless and the shelves can be adjusted too . There is a slot or you could just take the one shelf out. But this is a strong sturdy piece so think beyond nightstand. just great in person, better than the picture.
