Shelf included?

The description says there are holes that accommodate a shelf. Is the shelf included in the purchase as shown or is the shelf something that you need to order separately? It looks like the shelf comes with it.

yes. however, it is packaged seaprately so you can choose not to install it.

Could this mirror be hung sideways so that the width is 23.5 if I didn't put the shelf on?

It really wouldn't work that way because even if you have the shelf off the top would still have a ridge, alos the mounting brackets would have to be moved and if not done correctly could damage the mirror or cause it to crack over time. May I sugget if you would like this for the color just find another mirror with like frame and use an almond colored spray paint to achieve the color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mirror~ No warping or waviness in glass! I purchased two of these for my double vanity. The mirror is a nice quality (no warping/wavy effect)- solid reflection and the frame is sturdy. The paint finish is wonderful~ must say it is in no way “white”… definitely “antique” creamy/beige ~ yellow white. The mirror does come with a bottom shelf~ but can be mounted without it. If you’re handy with a drill and a measuring tape, mounting is not that difficult. I did not have a stud for support so in addition to using heavy-duty drywall anchors at the top; I went an extra step and drilled (countersink) a hole in each lower corner (above shelf) and mounted with drywall anchors (covering holes with wooden plugs that I painted to match). Bottom Line~ A solid, well built frame with or without the shelf- looks great and most important for a mirror- no warping/waviness in the reflection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Deal I've have been looking for over a year for a antique white mirror for my very small half bathroom. The size was important in order to fit between my light fixture and counter. This mirror worked without the shelf. I purchased this mirror knowing that I would not need the shelf and it worked out perfectly. The mirror is well made and was easy to hang. I needed a very creamy antique white color to match my vanity. This mirror is definitely not white. The only thing I was a little bit annoyed with was the 3 holes on top and 5 holes on the bottom of the mirror (must be for the shelf attachment) but you can't see them when it is hung. I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 stars because of the holes. Good Deal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Custom look I purchased two vanities for the master bath they are well built and have beveled mirror and shelf that can be left on or off depending on your decor I attached them for style and function for toiletries .I would have help when you hang the vanities they are pretty heavy beautiful custom appearance . True to color and size you won't be disappointed

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Country Style Mirror This is a nice basic mirror with a decent finish on the frame. A friend put holes in the back of the ledge to hang it on the wall instead of with the mirror. I bought this because it went with my decor, but mostly because it had to go over a vanity cabinet that is only 24 inches wide and in a corner, so the mirror could not extend farther than that or be centered over the cabinet unless it was smaller. Most mirrors are wider. It looks fine in the room over my painted oak cabinet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy & darling Although a little more pricey that many of the Home Depot mirrors, this is a sturdy, quality-made mirror that goes perfectly with the cottage vanity. The bottom ledge comes detatched and you do not have to include it, but it really does add charm and a place to sit something decorative (as seen in the picture). I have the 60" double vanity with a mirror over each sink & I love it!
