The Home Decorators Collection 52 in. Gardinier ceiling fan combines modern aesthetic with advanced technology to create a beautiful piece that is both functional and stylish. The Gardinier fan incorporates WINK technology to take advantage of home automation technology. With WINK, you can turn your fan and lights on and off from anywhere using a connected smart device (phone, tablet, etc.); A great security feature that creates the illusion that someone is home when you are away. The integrated 17-Watt LED module means there are never any bulbs to replace and offers increased energy efficiency compared to standard bulbs. The Gardinier fan includes a feature-rich remote to conveniently control the fan's 4 speeds and light as well as a fan/light timer and Comfort Breeze setting which randomly varies your fan's speed to create an organic breeze effect. The included remote control will operate the fan without the WINK hub. The WINK hub is only required if using the app on smart devices such as phones, tablets, etc.

Questions & Answers

Can I purchase a holster for this controller? Or a second controller?

Asked by Jill March 7, 2020

I do not know about holster, but remote controller is available to buy. But if you use WiFi hub, you can also control from app like Bond.

Is it possible to purchase a replacement for the light kit for this fan?

Asked by Cateyes February 16, 2020

Thank you for your question. Yes, a replacement glass shade can be ordered by calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460.

Can you use another zigbee hub or does it have to be the Wink hub?

Asked by Rjs21 August 8, 2019

As Wink supports Zigbee and the fan is Zigbee and the Echo Plus supports Zigbee I can’t see why it wouldn’t..... But then I’m only making an assumption and I could be totally wrong!

Replacement Parts

Asked by Jenb79 May 9, 2018

You will need to call the manufacturer.

Is the Wink module require special wiring or is it already built into the guts of the fan?

Asked by Scottcornelius April 9, 2018

Alex & google home can only turn on the light. This requires a Wink2 HUB, and IFTTT account to set up Wink quick functions, that can be activated by IFTTT The wink hub also has to be in the room that the fan is, because the singal is so poor. The Wink2 Hub also requires a hard wire connection, so either using a Wireless Access Point with LAN connection, or LAN over Powerline in house wiring extension. It really is just cap, and in the end you are better off with a TP Link wall switch and a regular ceiling fan, save your money. Oh, and the reverser capacitor is prone to blow out, and you have to call to get a replacement, which it is more than difficult to track who makes the fan down, it isn't home depot, or hunter.

I had no problems with the fan spinning Only One Direction but I understand what you mean I bought the fan thinking I can control the blades and I can only control the light. Sorry I can't help you with that issue good luck.

Works great. Installation was easy. I use it in conjunction with my Wink hub, which allows me full control from my smart phone, and control of the light via Alexa. The only problem I encountered was during pairing with the Wink hub. The directions tell you to power off the unit until the hub is ready for pairing. Power needs to be cut from the entire unit, via a switch or circuit breaker, not just turning the unit off via the remote. The fan runs quiet with virtually no shaking or vibration, even at the fastest speed.

I bought this fan to replace an older contemporarily-styled fan that was missing its light globe and couldn't find a replacement. First off... I LOVE the looks of this fan! the nickel and black finishes go so well together and compliment my decor! I didn't use the Wink module, and just tucked it inside of the fan's canopy. The most difficult part of the installation was getting the canopy to align with the mounting bracket, but after that, it was pretty straightforward from there (that's the ONLY reason I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5). My old fan had a single halogen light bulb in it, which kept burning out (this last one had burn marks on it ,so it was about to burn out for good). The LED light kit means I'll never be changing a light bulb ever again, and it puts out a nice, white glow. The motor is silent, and I LOVE having the fourth speed, as most fans only have three speeds! I also like the Comfort Breeze mode for warmer days when I want a simulated breeze, and the timer function is great as well. Overall, this is a great fan, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. I don't regularly buy store brand ceiling fans, but this is an exception to that rule. :)

I ordered two of these units. Installed one in the master bedroom and one in my home office. They look great, work great and are very quiet. Both installs went reasonably well until I went to connect them to my recently purchased Wink Hub 2. My problem stemmed from not connecting the fans to light switches. Neither fan had a pre-existing install to work off of so I tied into power wiring close to the access hatch to my upper attic space for convenience sake (and to avoid working in a HOT attic any longer than necessary). I planned on using the included remote and to control the fans via Amazon Alexa control so I didn't bother to run a light switch that would have to be permanently in the "On" position for the automation to work properly. When I stated to do the Wink Hub setup, step two says "Power off the fan using the wall switch". Ugh. Long story short is that I added two light switches into the top of the closet that the attic access hatch is in, right under where I had mounted the junction box. This way if the Wink integration hiccups and I have to set the device up again I can just flick the switch. And as an added bonus it will give the next house owner something to puzzle about. The Wink app on my phone can control all aspects of the fan and light, setting fan speeds, activating Breeze mode, controlling the light levels etc. I was disappointed to find out that currently Alexa can only control the light and the light levels, not the fan functionality. That is apparently all that the Wink controller exposes to the Alexa API. Fortunately there is a work around. The Wink App allows you to create what they call "Shortcuts". These shortcuts can be triggered by IFTTT. So I created six shortcuts per fan, calling them Office Fan 1, Office Fan 2, Office Fan 3, Office Fan 4, Office Fan Breeze and Office Fan Off with similarly named shortcuts for the Bedroom fan. In IFTTT you need to create similarly named commands that call the Wink Shortcut. Once those shortcuts are created, and you have enabled the IFTTT skill in Alexa you can now control the fan functions via verbal commands to Alexa. Say "Alexa, trigger bedroom fan 3" or "Alexa, trigger bedroom fan off" and Alexa sends the command out to IFTTT and almost immediately it will set the fan speed or turn it off etc. I purchased the Hampton Bay Universal Ceiling Fan Wireless Wall Control which I am going to mount on the wall. I see it doesn't fit properly into a two gang Decora wall plate which is ridiculous but it will be nice to have a physical control in addition to the automated control, for when things on that side hiccup.

Works with Samsung SmartThings! Know what you're getting!! If you aren't comfortable with using a remote, don't get this! Thanks to the work of the community at smart things, this fan is working wonderfully using the custom device found here: https://community.smartthings.com/t/beta-hampton-bay-zigbee-ceiling-fan-light-controller/85084 There are 2 very important things that I would like to point out though. 1) Note that this fan does not have any pull chains, it relies solely on remote control whether through a smart home hub of some kind or the remote it comes with. If you prefer the "old fashioned" ways of controlling your ceiling fan, you wont like this. 2) The smart home hub will not be able to control this light with the light switch in the off position. Seems obvious enough, but just be aware of this if you're hoping to make heavy use of the smart home integration. If you intend to maximize the smart home hub capability, I recommend something like this http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton-Bay-Universal-Ceiling-Fan-Wireless-Wall-Control-68109/205846346 so that you can control the fan from your light switch without cutting the power to the fan. Cons: I wish this would have an option for a whiter color balance. My house uses daylight colored lights as it gives it a more modern look (and I might add, this fan has a modern style) - so it is unfortunate that this room now has a much different look than the rest of my house's lighting. Really hope to be able to find a daylight LED kit for this fan someday (see attached picture for reference)

save your money fan NOT controlled by alexa
much better looking fans for less money. the packaging is very deceptive wink hub and wink2 hub does not control fan speed only the light through echo Alexa. Out t is a swing and a miss. easiest to install blades I've ever done in my 20 years of putting up fans. fan remotes are not available with the 4 speeds only 3. so no bedside or wall equivalent for his/hers. wink hub has to be on the same room even with antennas out to pair and control.

I have a Wink Hub and wanted to replace a old ceiling fan that quit after 12 years. Fan looks great and seems to be well made. I have a OLD house built in 1924 and the wiring in the ceiling is original. The rest of the house/outlets have been upgraded, not the ceiling lights or switches. This fan installed like a breeze. I followed the instructions and it was up and running in less than an hour. Pairing it to the Wink was also a breeze and I can control the light and fan as well as brightness and speed from my IPhone. On the high setting it moves a lot of air! - Compared to my old fan, the blade installation was painless. Bought 3 more.

Beautiful Fan - I Love The Remote!
This was a replacement for a very old fan in our master bedroom and what an improvement! The fixture is directly over the middle of our bed and it was very difficult to reach the pulls for the light and fan settings. My husband has installed several fans in our home and it only took him a little longer to install this one. The receiver for the remote slides into the mounting bracket with the intenna outside of the fan. It is a joy to have the remote to control the fan functions - which are many. Easily reverse airflow, turn light on and off, set for "Comfort Breeze" which randomly changes fan speed to simulate a relaxing breeze, or turn on a timer for 2/4/8 hour run time - nice for falling asleep in warm weather! A Wink app is available for download but the remote is enough to suffice for our needs.

Nice looking and very quiet!
I had no fan or light in this ceiling so I used a ceiling fan bracket in between the ceiling joists. I was able to install and run wire to the box fairly easily because I could get to it from the attic. This made the instalation and wiring of the fan outlet box a lot easier for me. Once that was done (really the only hard part of installing the fan) the job of assembling and installing the fan was pretty easy. The directions were great, all the parts were there and everything fit and went together perffectly. The fan is very stable, has no wobble at all and operates very quietly. I was worried about the fact that this fan comes with a downrod and can't be mounted tight to the ceiling but I should not have worried about that. It has no wobble at all. The fan is very attractive and matches our other nickle hardware. It looks nice and operates perfectly. The installation directions are possibly the most complete set of installation directions I've ever come across. They are also very easy to understand and very detailed. The only place I had a question was at the very end when I wasn't sure what to do with the WINK antenna and the remote antenna. I was hoping I could hide them in the fan but that does not work for the fan's antenna for the remote controller. The black wire antenna for the remote has to be extended out like in my attached picture or the fan won't respond to the remote. I put it towards the "back" of the fan so it's not so visible when you enter the room. I don't have a WINK hub and don't really want th extra features that Wink provides so I ended up hiding the white Wink antenna inside the fan cover. The attached pic shows it exposed but it's now hidden in the fan cover. I hope you find all this helpful.

Nice fan
Very nice great looking fan, Only one problem with it, I had all set up put in the remote receiver then tried to wire, very little room, very tight fit, instruction show leaving the fan wire the full length, but don't is no room for all that wire, if it did not have required remote control receiver would be ok, but you will have a hare time. well once I had it all together went and turned on the power to check remove and was not pleased with how tight all wire was. turn on blow breaker, so take all apart, had a wire from box going out above remote so take all down and remove hanger had to cut much larger holes for wiring to get out without binding, cut out above where remote receiver has room on the sides. then reinstalled all an all was good. Thing Mrf need to fix this, if you but and only has a 1" =/- hole in the center above where receiver goes cut extra holes I cut extra space on each side. Other than that blades went in with no problem then just install the glass globe and you should be good to go.

A beautiful, well made fan
This fan reminds me of an industrial modern but would actually go with a lot of interiors. It is well made, looks great and has a lot of bells and whistles. You can even program to your smart phone. It took a little while to put it together and of course we did have to do some back tracking because someone who helped does not believe in reading the entire instructions first. All the parts and pieces were all there so no problem there. It is a 52" 3 blade fan. The 3 fan blades look really cool. It has a transmitter or whatever you call it to be able to use the enclosed remote. The remote even has a timer, fan speed control, you can reverse blade direction and it has a light dimmer for the led lights made into the light fixture. The light is bright and the fan is very quiet and steady. It can whip up some air circulation for a large room with no problem. I really like the look of it and all of the functions on the remote. Even came with 2 AAA batteries for the remote. This fan is awesome.
