The Horizontal Toast Solid Bamboo Flooring from Home Decorators Collection offers natural beauty and a versatile, stylish finish to enhance any decor. The prefinished flooring features a 7-layer aluminum oxide finish to protect from everyday wear and tear in any room, making it a durable choice for active households. The tongue-and-groove profile allows straightforward installation on or above grade. Designed with environmental responsibility in mind, it received the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification and has been tested for more than 10,000 volatile organic compounds, including formaldehyde, to meet these standards. You can rest assured knowing your flooring was produced with ethical standards and won't pollute the air you breathe. An existing home should have a consistent room temperature of 65°F - 75°F and relative humidity (RH) of 40% - 55%. Continual deviation from these conditions will affect the dimensions of flooring (see installation guide for more details).

Q:When laminate flooring first came out, it was all tongue and groove, the joints all had to be glued and drawn together with strap clamps, excess glue cleaned off the surface, and tape used to keep the joint tight until it set up. Will this work with this?

Bamboo flooring
I love this flooring! It was easy to install with no bad boards. It’s been very durable with no scratches or dents in the six months I’ve had it you can’t go wrong with it!

Looks great, holding up well after year and a half
I installed this in my kids' bedrooms about 18 months ago. Install went smoothly, I used Taylor MS+ glue over a DRIcore insulated subfloor (over concrete basement floor). It looks great and doesn't scratch too easily. I'm pretty happy with it, and have just finished a third bedroom using the engineered version of this flooring. (This third room gets very little traffic, and I wanted the easy no glue installation.)

I used Home Decorators Collection Horizontal Toast 5/8 Solid Bamboo Flooring on a cathedral ceiling. I read the reviews about it scratching but that wasn't a concern for me due to installing on the ceiling. I installed 7/16 OSB on the ceiling first then stapled the flooring to the OSB through the tongue using 1/4 by 1 inch staples every 3 to 4 inches. It worked and looks great. The only warning I have is to use from ALL the boxes when installing. The instructions tell you to work from several cartons at a time which is normal for any manufacturer. I bought 18 cartons which was one whole sealed skid and a part skid. I mixed the cartons and divided into two piles of 9 cartons for each side of the cathedral ceiling. The boards come in different shades as shown on the picture on the carton, some light toast all the way to burnt toast. After installing the first 9 cartons on the one side, the second side cartons had more dark boards which made that side to have more variations then the first side. Only had 3 boards with blemishes and 3 that were warped and was able cut out the blemishes and use them as starter or end row pieces. I would recommend this product for ceilings or walls but not sure about flooring due to other reviews.

Excellent product. Easy to install and maintain. I am using this for the flooring and bench in an off-the-grid outhouse. I build something similar 13 years ago using the same product and it is still in like new condition. Basically maintenance free for my application.

After time....... problems.
used this floor in 3 rooms and a hallway. it looks great. Lays relatively easily. Sometimes a little messy when using glue. We chose it because of the look and to be able to lay it directly on concrete by glue down with no creepers that would raise the floor up another 3/4". After leveling the floor carefully and peeping the area I laid the floor. After about a couple of months the floor in our den started cupping. I had noticed it in the other areas but was hoping it wouldn't be a problem in our den. The dining area and hallway all have boards that popped loose. I think I would have been better off with a floating floor. After trying to make a change in this from peeping to prepping I couldn't get the single line to work to back up. I'd of better off using the regular computer. oh well.

The finish scratches very easily, and flakes off on the edge where the installer was not careful ...
The finish scratches very easily, and flakes off on the edge where the installer was not careful enough in tapping it into place. That is easy to do if the installer is not careful enough, and leaves a lot of places where lighter wood shows through.

For care and maintenance on scratched flooring please seek the following methods: Light and small surface scratches can be repaired with a staining “touch up” pen of the appropriate color. Slightly deeper scratches can be repaired by means of colored putty and or stains. Fill the scratches with the putty. Level with putty knife. Wipe off excess putty. Very deep scratches may require the replacement of the planks. If further assistance is needed please contact our Technical Support Department at 877-630-1800.
