AnswersMy guess is you''d have to purchase a new one. Before I plunked down $80 for this lamp, I found a similar one ... the light tube could slide and tilt ... at a local lighting shop. It was really nice, but came with a $395 price tag. In other words, I can replace this Hampton Bay model four times and spend the same amount of money.

This lamp is amazing. I needed a floor lamp for reading on my couch, but in a tight spot and I didn't want a big bulky lampshade detracting attention from the fireplace. This is perfect. The arms swing up or down to wherever you want them. The profile is extremely streamlined. Someone walking in the room wouldn't probably even notice the lamp was there if it wasn't on. The controls are super simple. A tap on the base of each arm takes you through 3 levels of brightness or turns it off. The actual LED portion on each arm can also be twisted so that you can direct the light exactly where you need it. This style is not what I had in mind when I started shopping (probably because I hadn't really seen a style like this before) but when I saw it, I realized it was perfect. Very happy with this reasonably priced, well-designed lamp.

I wanted a minimalist fixture -- physically and visually -- and this lamp fits perfectly in a relatively small living area. It casts enough light for reading, and I like the three-step brightness control. Plus, it looks cool. Thinking of getting another for the downstairs living area.

I needed a source of light next to my couch but didn't want a lamp that was obnoxious and blocked the view of the rest of the room, nor did I want one to be a focal point. Finding a lamp that generated light but was nearly invisible and not obtrusive is hard, but I finally found one with this lamp. It's sleek and modern without being pretentious and it's totally functional, unlike other modern lamps that are just there to make a statement. It has three different modes; low, medium, and high. When the end of the arms are touched, it turns the light on. When it's touched again, the light gets brighter or it turns off. The arms are adjustable so you can arrange them any way you like. I like it so much that I'm getting a second one for my bedroom where it will replace the cumbersome and ugly traditional floorlamp that is used for reading. Lastly, it's ridiculously simple to put together. It takes longer to unpack the box than it does to put together.

Quality and “look” are outstanding. Illumination is perfect. It turns on and off with a “touch” setting at the end of each light bar. Touching the switch toggles each bar through “OFF- LOW-MEDIUM-HIGH-OFF”. Because of this, you can’t leave the light on and control it through a wall switch.
