Excellent small room fan with lights
I personally trust Home Decorators fzns as i have a few in my house, so when it was time to upgrade my sons room from a light fixture to a fan with light, i found this suitable sized fan with light for the room. It comes with integrated LED soft white colored strip lights a simple remote which you can attach near the wall switch. I ordered it online and received it promptly all in one piece. I had my share of experience in installing fixtures and fans and very comfortable working with electricity at home. The ceiling setup took most of the work, as i had to replace an old non fan compliant box to a new metal box, but once that has benn done, the fan installation was fast and easy. The included instruction manual was clear, you just follow the steps and its done. The fan its self is of great quality with steel brackets for support, it comes with a short ca. 7in rod, so if you needed to be longer or on a sloped ceiling, a sepreate rod needs to be purchased. The LED light is bright enough for a 10x10ft room, the light cover is of strong plastic, not glass and this fan has a 2 directional switch. All in all i am happy with this fan and purchase and will highly recommend.

No air
Overall I would give the fan more of a 3.5 stars other than three but there’s no ability to do that here.
It looks great, I’m just not sure about the fan blades. There is really no angle to the fan blades. there’s kind of a cool looking angle on the ends of the blades which doesn’t supply much in terms of airflow compared to other fans. When I have it on high I really feel no air at all unless I am standing directly underneath it. I see these fan blades sagging in the near future. No proof of that but that is my guess. In my opinion they are The flimsiest fan blades out of the five fans in my house.
If you like to feel airflow in my opinion this is not for you. The light is brighter than I thought it would be which is good. This is more of an entryway light but I would not use it As my main light and something like a bedroom. Others may like it that way though?
No problem on the install. directions were very good. being that it’s a lower priced fan I’m happy with my purchase overall.

Nice looking fan that moves air well.
Great Fan, I recommend a couple things to help installation go smoother.. put the blades on first. Avoid mounting on a shallow electrical box. Hang the ball in the mount then wire the remote control module by sliding it into to place. Tuck the ground wire up out of the way above the remote control module to give you more room. The 2 set screws that hold the cover are difficult to find the hole in the bracket. don't tighten the screws until they are both in the bracket. hope that helps.

Great fan with excellent options
This is a very effective fan with multiple speeds and dimming light. I got one put in my eldest daughters room, and she loved it so much I got a second one for my youngest daughters room. The dimming feature is nice for bedtime. The light has to be held down and it will go from brightest to darkest. Release the button when you find the right brightness. My 11 year old can operate the remote easily, and she really enjoys the better airflow in her small room.

Love the look and quality, but….
After installing the fan we let it run through the night, in the middle of the night the light would flip on. I had to remove the receiver in the electrical box in the ceiling and change the code on it then change the code on the remote to match. Once I did that we didn’t have this issue anymore. Hoping this resolves the issue and we don’t have to remove and return it to the store. Quality and color are awesome. Also fairly easy to install.

This fan is a nice matte black color and the pieces seem well made. It only comes with a short, approximately 4" down rod, so any longer rod will need to be purchased separately. The included LED light package has a Samsung LED. It also comes with a remote control which requires additional wiring and connections when installing the fan. The blades have an interesting design feature (see photos) with a downward bend on one edge. I don't notice a difference in air movement compared to previous fans, but something to note.
I was disappointed my box was missing the instructions, but they are available and easy to find online and through the Home Depot website. I received instructions for light assembly and balancing the blades, but not general instructions. Assembly was relatively easy, but I do have a decent amount of fan hanging experience. It is definitely a two person job, especially when holding the fan to secure wiring and hang it from the mounting bracket.

My review of the Home Decorators Collection Merwry 48” matte black ceiling fan with integrated light and remote control. Beautiful fan for sure. Has some nice features that make it less frustrating to install that other ceiling fans I've installed. The blades get installed first, with the motor on a table. This makes what is normally a challenging job much easier. Also screws are not visible when looking up at the fan. The blades are made of a plastic material. They are clearly labeled as to which side goes up. I also like the remote. Simple and easy to operate. It also can be programmed to different 'frequencies' to eliminate any problems from other remotes in the area. The programming is done via dip switches on the remote and receiver module. Since the receiver is located at the ceiling above the fan and is covered, it is a bit of a challenge to access this to change after the fan is installed. The fan comes with a balancing kit to correct for any wobble. It comes with an instruction sheet on how this is done. Fan rotation is reversible BUT the switch to do this is above the fan motor and behind a cover. So I need a ladder to access it. Kind of a pain. An issue I had was that the fan was it arrived without installation instructions. Not sure if this is how it is suppose to come or not. Easy enough to fix as The Home Depot website has soft copy links on the item web-page to get the documents related to the fan. In a way it saves paper waste but if that was the reason then it should have been noted on or in the box because I lost some time having to go look up the instructions. Another issue to look for is the power cable that feeds through the down rod. The cable has white fiberglass insulation on it. I think the packaging people could have done a better job of protecting this cable so it does not rub on the metal parts while in the box. I am happy with the fan.
