The heat is dispersed from the front of the unit.
This appliance is hot when in use. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 ft. (0.9 m) from the this appliance. Also, the cord from the TV should not be near or touch the fireplace at anytime while fireplace is in use.
The face is dull not glossy.
