The shades will not snap into place. I'm having the same issue as Molly (see 12/8/16 question). I called the 1-800 # listed but the options are all regarding appliances. Is there an issue with incorrect brackets being included?

Like most people here I was very frustrated with the install, in fact I ran out of expletives to describe these things, then I finally got it. The real key is not so much the bottom clip, its getting the back of the header (the shorter side) deep enough to get behind those dog ear shaped tips before you try to rotate the blind in place; then it goes together very easy.

We just purchased theses blinds and cannot seem to get the blinds snapped into the brackets. They seem to be a bit too small

Could we be doing something wrong? we tried to snap them in before we screwed them in and we couldn't get them to fit that way either. We did that approach to be sure we had the brackets correct and per the instructions we are doing it correctly but they are not fitting.....

I followed the instructions, but with zero success. Took matters into my own hands...I actually hammered the bottom part of the clip down (when mounted) to widen the clip. This helped a lot. I also opened up the blind a little at the top so I could get a better grip. It didn't bend or damage the shade in any way. I also put the back in first (instructions said front first - don't do that). Once the back was clipped in, I used a flathead screwdriver to get the front clipped in. Good luck!

I'm considering buying this blind to block light coming in from a large picture window. The wides...

I'm considering buying this blind to block light coming in from a large picture window. The widest shade will block most of the window. I can block the rest of the light with drapes. From the installation instructions it looks like this mounts from the top of the window. Do I have that right? Second question: do I need to install the holding bracket at the bottom of the window to hold the shade in place?

Thank you for your question. Yes these shades are mounted from the top or back of the blind. Also the holding brackets are optional. Even without the hold down brackets the blind will stay in place when the blinds are closed. the hold down brackets help so the blind will not swing back and forth if it was on a door or a huge gust of wind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought 6 of these in different sizes and colours, yesterday and today. They install very easil... I bought 6 of these in different sizes and colours, yesterday and today. They install very easily. I was skeptical when I read some previous reviews, but the brackets are solid and the end covers go in with a little wiggling, but no problem. They look so tidy and go up and down smoothly. What a relief from my old flimsy corded ones! I cannot yet speak to durability, but they seem sturdy so far. They are certainly black-out shades...block light and heat very well. They look fantastic, and the price is very reasonable. I bought these in store, and have to comment that Lisa in Owen Sound was over the top helpful to ensure I was purchasing a product appropriate to my needs. She spent a lot of time asking questions and making recommendations, and then was very careful to ensure precise measurements and cutting of the blinds. Her advice and patience was so appreciated...and she seemed genuinely happy to do so. Kudos to Lisa for helping me make an informed and confident purchase! I am so pleased. I will purchase more of these to redo bedrooms and basement.

The one thing I should mention is that you HAVE to make sure the back of the shade is in the back when you try to snap it into the brackets. The back of the head rail has a TINY ridge that runs along the rear edge (the ridge is about the size of a 0.5 mm pencil lead). That is what snaps into the bracket. I didn't notice the ridge and took about 2 hours trying to get the shade to snap into the bracket. Then I got out my magnifying glass and looked closely at the diagram, finally seeing the tiny ridge. I turned the shade around and it snapped right in. The second shade took no time at all because I turned it in the right direction to start with. It would be helpful if there was a removable sticker showing which is the front or back.

I have purchased 10 sets of these blinds a couple of years ago, and would have rated them five stars. They were better quality and snapped easily into place. Sometime in the last couple of years they have changed the design. They are now next to impossible to install into the brackets. Everything about them feels cheaper. Just the price stayed the same. I will be finding a different brand to replace the rest of my blinds with. Very disappointed!!!

Installing them Is truly awful as it took a lot of pounding and finesse to get them to snap in which is why I give them 3 stars. It really should not take 4 hours to install 3 shades, most of the time spent was screwing around snapping them in. The instruction booklet is useless. One problem I didn't foresee is that when the shade is all the way up I can't reach it to pull it down without standing on a chair, which is really annoying, and they don't offer a pull down handle that could mount onto the bottom plastic part of the shade to solve this problem. I'd be willing to purchase this if it were available as an option. While it isn't their fault that I'm short and my windows are high, it would be an easy optional add on, and I see a few people have asked for it.

The top and bottom rails do not match the color of the fabric.....and they should. They are inexpensive, easy to install, light, and easy to put up and down. The primary reason for the rating is the color of the rails. I do not know how they will hold up over time. They are but a fraction of the cost of Kirsh Cordless which came with a lifetime guarantee (which I then found to be a limited lifetime guarantee of 10 years). The retracting mechanism failed after about two years and out of 11 blinds I had to send on average 3 blinds back for rethreading every year. Those were a quality and expensive disaster. These are inexpensive and can simply be replaced if and when they fail.

Lots of wasted time trying to install - almost returned thinking they may all be defective. You can get higher quality online for just a little more. My hands hurt from trying to get the end caps on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Installation hassle The blinds are fine, but not worth the installation pain. I have installed several Bali and Levelor brand blinds and they snapped right in. These, on the other hand, require bending brackets, jamming a flat head screwdriver into the frame to get the header to snap into the undersized bracket hardware, etc. Avoid the frustration and go with another brand.

While the shades themselves are nice, they recently changed the brackets for hanging them and the new ones are atrocious. We bought 3 of these and none of them lock into place correctly and in fact at one point or another, all 3 have just fallen down. We have 2 others in our home with the previous bracket and they were easy to hang and stay in place. The bracket change ruined this product for us.
