This product is warrantied as a glue down installation. The recommended adhesive is a premium non-water based formula specially formulated for engineered bamboo flooring. The preferred type is moisture cure urethane floor glue. It is also recommended that you use an adhesive with a moisture barrier built in as well. The two glues that my installers typically use are Roberts 1535 and Bostik's Best. Both are formulated to bond with bamboo and both have a moisture barrier built in, which is required for bamboo flooring. If you don't want to secure the product to the sub floor, I would recommend the click together version of this for ease of installation. This will allow you to use an underlayment that has both a moisture barrier and sound reduction properties.

The Home Depot uses a special order company for their bamboo trims. If you speak with the flooring specialist they should be able to get you pricing and lead times. The Home Decorators customer service # is 1-800-986-3460 if you need further assistance.

Answer

All flooring is susceptible to scratches. When considering scratch resistance you should consider what the finish is and how scratch resistant the finish is. Some floors have more durable finishes than others. The Home Decorators flooring collection is prefinished with an 11 layer polyurethane/aluminum oxide coating, which is very durable. Whether it is a solid or an HDF click together product, the surface product is still the same. Please note that a darker product will show more dirt, dust, dog hair, and scratches than a lighter one.

An earlier answer has this information exactly right: February 11, 2020 There are 3 different widths: 3-3/4", 5-1/8", and 5-5/8". Each box contains 3 of each, all 6 ft long.

Do not buy this in java. It scratches extremely easily. I can’t imagine if I had a dog these would be destroyed in a heartbeat. Already can’t have anyone wear shoes. Scratches Looks like white hairs. A plastic laundry basket sliding On the floor will scratch it. I regret not listening to other reviewers.

While we have only had them a few weeks, we absolutely LOVE our new floors. We had the entire downstairs professionally installed and have since decided to have it installed in our upstairs as well. We have a very old home (115 years) so we wanted to find something that would maintain that 'old home charm'. After much research (over the course of a year in fact), we kept coming back to this Honey Solid Bamboo flooring. The distressed look/color goes very well with our old home. The varying size/colors of the planks make for a beautiful as you can see by the pictures. Few quick tips. If your floors are uneven at all, have these professionally installed. Our installer was beating these pretty good with a mallet to get them into place. If you are taking these out of the box yourself to acclimate to your home, you may want to wear gloves or you will get a healthy share of splinters from the underside of the wood. Finally, do yourself a favor and have them delivered to your home if possible, these boxes were heavy.

Purchased Distressed Dark Honey over 800 SQ feet of this product. I did not use the glue down option instead opted for 18 Gauge 1 inch crown staples. It looks a lot better once installed then in the store display or the sample. Few bad pieces from the 39 boxes that I ordered but that was expected. We searched a lot before making this purchase and even missed out on a 20% off on these floors but are very happy. Only time will tell how they hold up but so far so good.

Looks awesome! We love the dark wood color and we only had ~20 unusable boards throughout 20 packs due to either very light coloration or a defect in the tongue and groove. We love them. Installation was harder than expected due to the glue as DIYers. Also, the distressed look should really help hide scratches and imperfections.

I went with distressed dark honey. Looks fantastic. Love the variation in color. Had it down for over a year now and holds up fine to my big, crazy dog. My two cents: * I like the solid over the click option. I've installed both. The click option couldn't be easier to install (did a whole living room in a day with the click) but your floor needs to be very level and the underlayment is pretty expensive. * I nailed it down. Yes that voids the warranty apparently but when am I going to return a floor? The glue is very expensive and I'm not gluing anything down to my sub floor. My flooring nailer didn't work on this since it's so hard so I used a finish nailer. Another no-no probably but between the tongue and groves and finish nails, the floor isn't going anywhere. * Had maybe 2 or 3 boards out of 12 boxes that were a little too "distressed". Not a big deal. Probably would have looked fine anyway and I want some extras on hand.

Very hard and scratch resistent. Beautifully finished and turns out to be perfect match for our wood furniture. Flooring purchased for new home office. Added bonus: since this flooring requires gluing down instead of nailing (like some solid woods) or free floating (like laminate), it does not click or move when walking on it.

The floor looks great, but beware the installation is messy. This floor can only be installed using glue, so the process was hard and sticky. Be sure you buy the glue wipes for easier clean up.

Great product. Looks beautiful. Installation with Robert's 1535 adhesive is not easy and somewhat messy but worked as expected. Overlooked that one of the pieces had a different shade, but only one out of 150 pieces. Luckily it is under a rug. So, pay attention to shade. Planks are mostly pretty straight. Make sure you use a flooring strap to pull planks together until the adhesive cures or wedge them tight against the wall using a crowbar or similar. Ended up with some small gaps in my first flooring section, that could have been avoided. Well, this was my first flooring project. Spreading the adhesive perpendicular to the planks is vital to avoiding glue getting trapped in tongue and grooves. Happy with the outcome. That being said, the delivery experience was absolutely horrible as the "Last mile delivery service" subcontractor (Metro Detroit) lost one shipment and left 2 more shipments out in the rain resulting in a month long project delay. Home Depot, however, provided new shipments and a discount for the hassle. Decided to have the fourth order go to Home Depot store, where I picked it up using an HD truck rental.

I've had this floor down for 3 years now. Still looks great. I have found that heavy furniture will put slight scratches in the surface finish, probably can be polished out. Be careful to follow the 3/8" gap around the edges, I missed in one area and have slight buckling when there's more moisture in the winter. I rate this floor 5 stars because it is definitely heavy duty.

The bamboo floor is beautiful but my suggestion is to take your time and do your research before you buy this because of the gluing of the floor. It is quite a task and very very very labor-intensive and a very slow moving job. Also the glue is overpriced but the floor is beautiful.
