The Home Decorators Collection Whisper White motorized blackout cellular shades can be operated through the Home Decorators Collection app. The motor is easily installed with a snap fit into the trim of the cellular shade. The motor works on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and is easy to install inside or outside you window trim, without any technical knowledge or skills. The shade can be set at any desired position and has a steady, adjustable raise-up speed. The energy efficient fabric design provides total privacy but allows the room to illuminate with natural light. Honeycomb construction creates air chambers that insulate and shield, your room from the outside heat or cold. This unique feature helps lower your heating or cooling bills all year round. The honeycomb-shaped cells are made with durable, spun lace fabric that form crisp, clean pleats that will keep your windows looking sleek. Pretty nice product. I originally purchased with the thought that they would be temporary until I can decide what I want. Now I'm thinking I just might keep them; providing they stand the test of time. I do only recommend the blackouts for inside mounting only as you CAN see the foil lining. I'll update my review if necessary.

I waited for the motorized shades to be back in...
I waited for the motorized shades to be back in stock and purchased 6 of them in different widths. The wider widths do not retract evenly to the top of the unit with one side about 1/4 to 1/2” lower than the other. Other than that I am pleased with the shades when compared to other motorized units. I have 3 programmed to open/close together, 2 more in another group, and 1 by itself using the free app. Easy to install as you just need to review the install video and then follow the instructions provided.

Inspect First
The blind works and looks well for the price. However, the first one delivered was full of plastic shaving and the top rail was left jagged and uneven by 1/8th of an inch. Rather than return I tried to install it anyway since it sits behind an outer window covering. I cleaned up the shavings as best as possible. However the internal pullies and cabling seized within two weeks. The shavings had gummed up the spring return. Do not install if you have any obvious quality issues.

I bought these shades for my beach house to block out the sun in my family room in 2 windows that reflected on my TV. I had previously purchased so I knew these were easy to install and great. These look so good, a good price, easy to move up and down, I am very happy with this product.

Great Shades!
Love these shades. Easy to install. They are a tight fit but you can get them cut to size at the store. Luckily, I didn't need too. Any light getting through was because my windows aren't perfectly square and level, otherwise total blackout.. Not as expensive as I thought either. Good purchase all around.

The blinds work, but the motor/controller is a bust. We purchased 6 sets of blinds with motors for windows too tall to reach. 5 out of 6 work. The sixth we must recalibrate any time we choose to open or close the blinds. It’s a good idea, but has a high failure rate.
Unfortunately, taking the blinds down and subsequently retuning them to the store will be a big pain, especially with covid regulations.
I would not purchase these blinds with the motors again. Nor would I recommend them.

These look nice and were simple to install.
They are not functional as automatic blinds.
I purchased 2; one of the blinds works through the app about 70% of the time, the other set worked the 1st day, but now requires “recalibration” each time I want to open them through the app. I’m not sure if it is a motor problem or an app problem.
Overall, I spent a couple hundred dollars on some nice looking room-darkening blinds. The app I want to scream at every day was FREE!
