Can this flooring be installed on stairs?

Yes but you will have to use bullnose nailed or glued at nosing and treads ,also figure how to finish edges that abut stringers to allow for expansion and contraction. I would not use these click lock pieces for stairs but the thin full piece stair treads that H D carries

Half lenght boards???

Asked by zack356 February 24, 2016

Answers

Dear customer, the random lengths provide variety and visual appeal. There is no specific percentage of product length distribution between product cartons. Prior to installation, arrange planks from several boxes to ensure even distribution of colors, shades, characteristics and lengths of product. -DT

Is an underlayment required on a ground floor installation over old hardwood? If so, what product is recommended?

Underlayment is not required. However, for floating floors consider using a foam underlayment reduce sound and protect the wood flooring.

At pickup they let me open a box to check it was like my sample, then they loaded it to my pickup. Very pleasant and efficient. At home I opened all 13 boxes to acclimate to my humidity or lack there of. After a few days I started install. This was the easiest click lock floor I have ever installed. Every piece clicked together perfectly. I installed part on subfloor with 30 lb felt underlay, and part over existing old oak flooring that was even and solid. Finished now about 3 weeks and it looks fantastic and very up to date. No scratches so far and any dust or dirt easy to remove. Very happy!

I love the way the floor looks, but it is not durable. I had it installed professionally in August of this year (2018). Home Depot installers were not able to install as scheduled because my concrete slab was not level. I paid to have it leveled and then had it installed by the company that leveled the floor. Hated the quarter round matching trim that was recommended by Home Depot. They said , "Most people are having the quarter round installed." They would not take the very expensive quarter round back because it was a special order. I substituted a nice white molding. As to the durability - In three months I have 5 chips out of the top wood level. Perhaps, if I had gotten the 3/4 inch it would have not chipped. I have no way of knowing. Lastly, I am left with 2 unopened cases. Obviously, the estimate was way over. I also have an unopened box of unneeded transitions, and two boxes of unused matching quarter round trim. Non of the unopened boxes can be refunded.

So far, so good. Our floor has been down for a week but we haven't moved back in yet. The floor seems to be holding up to workmen walking carefully over it without any obvious scratches and it looks quite lovely in color and grain. It's much more uniform in color than natural acacia, with a warm, rich color. If it holds up to everyday traffic of two adults, we will be very happy with our choice.

Don't buy this product!! We have the 3/4in SOLID HARDWOOD
We had this installed in November, first try at installation the boards were cut wrong from the mill and they had to send out all new flooring. Ok that was good they responded so fast, BUT, they didn't send enough so had to use the good pieces from the original order to finish the job. This was installed by professionals. Fast forward to March, the wood started to "bubble" on many of the planks. Had to call Home Depot and try to get this rectified asap. After having the floor inspected by a professional floor specialist and chemical tested they sent the installer back out to fix the boards that were defective and fix the gaps that was also noticed during the inspection. Well 2wks later the installer came to fix the issues, there were many many more areas that started to bubble. The installer went into the box of the leftover material that was left here from November and noticed those boards also had bubbles in it. After numerous phone calls between the floor specialist, managers, supervisors, the installer and Home Depot finally came to an agreement that this was indeed a manufactuer defect. So now in April we have to pick out a new wood floor and have it installed, we were happy with the color of this flooring but now we are back to square one picking out a color and ect. Please save yourself the headache and don't buy this product or possibly any product from this company. If you do have this product check it closely because it starts out small and then gets so much worse as you can see in the picture I uploaded.

Good looking product. Only been down for 3 weeks, good so far!!
So far so good. Good looking product, boards were all in good shape. Decent construction of wood, pretty small wear layer but should be able to sand once in future if needed. ** Only been installed for about 3 weeks and weather as been consistent, so we will see in future about any issues......

You be the judge...
The product installs easily and looks great. My concern is for its durability. A dropped glass left deep scratches that penetrated the wood surface making it necessary to replace those boards. Luckily , this happened at an early point during the installation.

A Good Wood Floor
Product looks great and installed OK if you know what you are doing. The starting line was a little hard to implement, do to the longest boards being bowed. I didn't notice this right away and had a problem lining up the starting runs. After I noticed my long boards were bowed I could adjust to the problem. Once I corrected for this the install went very well. The click lock was easy to work with and the color variation is great. There are only four sizes to a box of 24 sq ft. so laying out your floor pattern is advisable. Depending on your install skill level, a low of 6 % to a high of 10% waste factor should be considered.
