Does Home Legend recommend a particular brand or type of underlayment for the engineered bamboo floating floor?

Asked by: Karen
We do not have a recommended type of floating floor underlayment for this type of our flooring. However, if you are installing on a concrete, ceramic, or terrazzo-based subfloor, you will want to use a 6-mil, polyethylene film moisture barrier underlayment on the subfloor first. Failure to do so may cost you your warranty on the product.

Re: Home Legend horizontal bamboo toast 9/16" 4-3/4 wide, Is it true that the internet price is $2.99 / sqft and the in-store price is $3.49?

Is this product going to be stocked in the future or is it being cleared out (in-store sale price is $2.73?)
Asked by: Rick
We bought out this flooring at a local Home Depot at approx. $2.70 sq. ft. (close-out price) We were doing three rooms but ran out of wood - had to purchase one box online at approx. $3.70 sq. ft. because all of the Home Depots were out of it. I have no clue as to whether the stores will re-stock this excellent product.

Horizontal Toast 9/16 in. Thick x 4-3/4 in.Wide x 47-1/4 in. Length Engineered Bamboo Flooring (24.94 sq. ft. / case) is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy installation, beautiful floor I've never installed a floor before and must say this went in easily and looks fantastic. It can scratch so you have to be careful walking on it in shoes or moving furniture, but little dents and scratches are part of a wood floor. Despite some of the websites, bamboo is not indestructible

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No longer available in store: special order We did initial whole house install in the spring and it went well. Had a clothes washer flood that ruined the flooring in the hallway. Product was difficult to replace as it has been discontinued in the stores. Took two attempts to buy the correct product. Delay in obtaining new flooring created perfect conditions for mold! Extra work to remove old flooring safely. Tip: remove damaged flooring immediately even before you order new flooring! Good product, but not excellent. Buy extra boxes if you foresee future needs. It will be harder to replace your flooring as time goes on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bamboo toast review floor is beautiful. goes together easily, but will not stay together. constantly gapping while putting in next piece. if you look at it too hard it will scratch and dent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 95% warped boards January, 2012 Purchased two boxes, one on line and the other in the store. Also purchased a T transition piece. Almost all of the boards and the transition piece were badly warped. Only 3 boards were flat. They would make a great bridge, but not a floor. Will return, too bad because they look really great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent engineered hardwood First time putting down engineered hardwood - actually any flooring at all. It went very smoothly, and was very easy to do. Floor looks beautiful! A bit costly to do a whole room in, but the tiny room we did looks great

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Floors Looks Great The floors looks great. Had some trouble with locking it but figured it out eventually. Marks up pretty easy and dents easily. Some of the boxes came with too many bent boards but it couldn't be avoided. Now thinking about use doing the stairs. Yea!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty floor but seems to have some problems Ends get gaps regardless how tight you put them together and makes the flooring look less than it should.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from enjoying my new floor when our floor was damaged by water my husband and i decided to replace rather than repair. i wanted to do the work myself. the room is about 10' x 12'. because of the length (12') it was not as easy as i thought to install; i definitely need at least two people, three was best. my daughter (14) and i installed most of the floor ourselves in two days. once we got the click thing down it went well. i enjoyed putting in my own floor and not having to use a nail gun was great. the floor looks great. thanks to who ever invented this stuff.
