  • Protects against dust, pollen, pet dander, bacteria and more
  • Captures particles as small as 0.3 microns
  • Lasts approximately 3 months
The Honeywell Elite Allergen Air Filter is made of a reinforced pleated media designed to capture particles down to the micro particle level. The large surface area improves the efficiency of its dust-holding capacity. The unique construction requires less energy for lower energy costs. Its electrostatic charge helps attract particles "magnetically" that otherwise would pass through. Housed in a recyclable clay-coated moisture resistant frame, this filter captures particles as small as 0.3 microns. In comparison, a human hair is approximately 100 microns in size. The Honeywell Elite Allergen is effective against the following contaminants: dust/lint, airborne dust mite debris, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, bacteria, microscopic allergens, virus carriers and odor, most smoke and smog particles.
  • Filters down to the micro particle level
  • Lasts up to 90 days
  • Electro-statically charged
  • Filter performance rating (FPR): 10
  • Heavy-duty, moisture-resistant frame

The actual size for the filter I'm replacing is 15.6×19.6×.8 inches. (3M brand, filtrete). This Honeywell one is 15.62×19.62×.75 inches. Will it fit in my Lenox gas furnace, EL 195 DF E-series?
Asked by: lucinda
Never bought this, out of stock. Best advice is call Lenox customer service or take your old filter with you and see if it's the same. More than likely you need the 16x20x1.

16 in. x 25 in. x 1 in. Elite Allergen Pleated FPR 10 Replacement Air Filter is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 1738.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great for some... Not for all These filters are very flimsy. There is metal mesh only on one side that isn't contoured to the pleats and the cardboard frame is very thin. My system secures the filter down the middle with a skinny metal bar. When i checked on this 4 month old filter (overdue), i found that it had bent in half and was sitting in the furnace like a butterfly allowing unfiltered air to enter. Although the filter material seems like better quality than Filtrete, i find it strange that Honeywell doesn't adapt to the same filter rating standard that every other manufacturer uses. The fact that Filtrete has contoured metal mesh on both sides of it's filters tells me that they took all types of systems into consideration when they designed their filters, and Honeywell either wanted to go the cheap route or just didn't look at all systems. Therefore, Filtere produces a better engineered product while Honeywell doesn't really care because The Home Depot logo is stamped onto all their products and packaging.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Higher price, lower quality Home depot is now carrying Honeywell filters instead of other brands. This is disappointing. I picked one up over the weekend - it was more expensive than my previous brand, but I thought I'd try it. It is horrendous - poorly made and ineffective. The cardboard frame became terribly crumpled during insertion (never a problem with the other brand, and it is not a difficult insertion), and made noise whenever it was use because the metal parts rub against the HVAC. Also, there is not as much surface area as my previous brand - which makes a filter much more effective with allergens. So it is more expensive, has poor quality construction, and does not filter the air properly. I will not be repeating the purchase. I will be ordering my previous brand online from now on. Unfortunately for Home Depot, air filters were generally what got me in the door on a regular basis, so with this change, they've lost a customer, permanently.

For the last three months I have purchased the Honeywell Elite Allergen Air Filter FPR 10. I purchased the 10 because of all that it filters. Our home is almost 1,000 sq. ft. I am choosing to replace the filter after 30 days because the original white turns to a medium gray and is fuzzy looking and that tells me it's time to replace it with a new filter. We do not own pets, nor do we smoke but here in Sacramento we have our share of outdoor allergens, dirt from construction sites and repair to the roadways, and smog. The air in our home smells clean and we have much less dust in the house. I think these filters are a good buy.

The thickness of the filter is not 1 inch, it is actually 0.75 inch, so air will naturally flow through the least resistance path (the gap) past the filter into the HVAC ducts and blow dust around the house. Might as well not use a filter at all. I bought 5 and all measured to only 0.75 inch despite it says 1 inch thick. I went to home depot and check all different sizes, they are all only 0.75 inch thick, which means non of these filters are filtering the air correctly and allow 0.25 inch gap for air to pass. Specification not up to standard. Do not buy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Verdict is Still Out On my last trip to HD I was unable to find the usual Filtrete air filter I've been buying for years. It seems that HD is now going to carry Honeywell filters. I have a Honeywell wifi thermostat and a few other Honeywell products so I decided to give their filter a try. This filter is the "Elite" version which is supposed to filter dust, pollen, viruses, smoke, and mold out of the air. It does not filter bacteria which the Ultimate version does. Which oddly enough is currently the same price although I could not find it in the store. Compared to the Filtrete Ultra filters I have used in the past, the Honeywell filters are lighter. There are significantly less pleats which means less surface area to trap dust, pollen, etc. Honeywell and HD apparently have some sort of partnership in regards to these filters because Home Depot is printed on the filter itself. That's perfectly fine as long as it's still a quality product. Honestly, I feel this filter will work fine but I do not feel it is quite the quality of the Filtrete filters but they are the same price so we shall see.

I am in shock at how much my filter has help my allergies and sensitivity to smog the moment they were installed. Living near downtown and close to a highway my filter turned black (see pic) from all the stuff in the air. I can't imagine what kind of dust and smog has been in the air before I started using Honeywell's higher level 10 filters. I am never going to use another product. These are the best filters! Worth the investment to have clean air.
