4 Gal. Filtration System for Water Cooler Dispenser Black is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good way to save money! Overall this is a good system. Initial setup and assembly pretty easy and straight forward. Within about 15 minutes you can can this setup. Like with most filters you need to kick off the setup by cleaning/washing out the filters since it uses charcoal and other types of mediums to filter the water. Once setup the filter works great. I did even notice a slight increase in flow over using the 5 gallon jug. The water quality is great. It taste great . The system isnt really 4 gallons maybe more like 3. One thing to note is to not over fill the system as it will flow over and make a massive mess (happened to me). Pros: saves money and time Looks great vs jugs easy to use and setup Cons: questionable volume can overfill and make a mess

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient Filtration System Why would anyone want to continue to carry jugs of water home when you could get a water filtration system to use with a hot and cold water dispenser? This Honeywell system has everything needed to have good filtered water. There were several steps to do before assembling the system. Mainly soaking the resin filter and rinsing the carbon filter out and the other plastic parts before assembly. Then the assembly of the parts, and installing on the dispenser. It is all clearly explained in the manual. It is now ready to add tap water and enjoy. This system needs to be cleaned every 3-6 months and filters replaced also. I am enjoying this water filter dispenser system. It is so convenient!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much easier and cheaper than bottled The Honeywell filtration system is a great companion to anyone's top mount water dispenser whether at home or the office. I recently got one to go with my Honeywell freestanding home dispenser instead of using 3 or 5 gallon bottles. Besides effectively purifying the water, it makes it taste just as clean and fresh as bottled water, but at a fraction of the cost. Here's my comparison of the two. Initial Cost: Your initial outlay, whether buying the Honeywell system or several empty bottles, is about the same. But then the two really differ from that point on. Recurring Cost of Honeywell Versus Bottled Water: Replacement filters for the Honeywell can be purchased for $37.24 each and are good for 132 gallons which typically would last you six months. That calculates out to 28 cents for each gallon. Compared to home delivery, a popular company's lowest cost plan for 5 gallon bottles is $6.49/bottle. That comes to $1.30/gallon or $1.02 more than each gallon filtered by the Honeywell system. Over the life of each filter you would save nearly $135! Other Advantages: Besides significantly lower cost, it's a much simpler alternative. You just add tap water to the reservoir using a pitcher which is much easier than lifting a heavy bottle and flipping it into place. With bottles you have to store all the empties as well as the full ones somewhere. If you refill bottles, you have the inconvenience of lugging them to and from the store. Other Considerations: This filtration system is very easy to install. There are top (white) and bottom (clear) halves made of plastic that you put together plus an inner bowl that holds the filter. There is a lid that opens with a hinge where you add water in the top half, it then flows through the filter filling the bottom half. The whole thing rests on top of the dispenser just like a bottle would. Capacity: Though the specs state the capacity is 4 gallons, I'm wondering how they calculate that amount. When I pour one gallon of tap water into the top reservoir (the white half), the water level in it comes to within 1/4" of the very top. The bottom (clear) half gets full after two gallons are filtered. So, I'm puzzled where the fourth gallon would be? Could it be the filter displaces that amount plus the water that's in the dispenser? I'm not sure, but as far as filtered, ready to drink water is concerned, I would say that there is definitely less than four gallons and probably more like about two to three that are available. Though there may be some questioning of the capacity amount, the cost savings alone warrants a five star rating. Add to that how simple it is to use, makes this an ideal way to provide water to your dispenser.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Filters well but I'm a little disappointed with capacity. This appears to be well made and was easy to clean and assemble. The filtered water tastes just like water from the popular refrigerator pitcher filters. They have similar methods of filtering. A resin material used for removing heavy metals, some paper-type filter media to to remove particles and then the activated charcoal which removes bad tastes, smells and some other impurities. The filter is only tested/rated for NSF/ANSI 42 which certifies that the filter can remove aesthetic issues with the water such as chlorine, taste, odor, and particulates. Just like most filter pitchers. The filters last for 132 gallons depending on use. They last longer than the pitcher filters because they contain more resin and charcoal. Cost winds up being about 10 cents per gallon more than the pitcher filters but significantly less than 1/4 of buying bottled water in 5 gallon jugs. If you're happy with using a pitcher filter you should be happy with this and it's convenient because it holds more water than refrigerator pitcher filters. When I first took it out of the box I was a little disappointed with how small it was. It is quite a bit smaller than a 5 gallon jug and only the bottom half is used to hold water. I'm not sure where they get the 4 gallon capacity of this. When I filled it up I used a 2.25 quart clean pitcher to move the water from my sink to the cooler. 2 Fillings of the pitcher brought it up to about the max I could fill the top compartment without spilling over. In about 10 minutes or so that water completely drained and filtered into the bottom chamber. I refilled again with 2 more pitcher fulls, Maybe a little less on the last one. That brought the level of water in the bottom compartment up to the top. So somewhere between 8 to 9 quarts or 2 to 2.25 gallons. About half the capacity of what was claimed. When I was filling the pitcher I still had some water in the reservoir from the previous bottle so maybe they're counting that as part of the capacity? I don't however think there are 2 gallons of water in the tanks though. As a result I'm filling up the cooler more than I would have liked but it's still less often than the filter pitcher and the top compartment holds enough water that I don't have to sit over the pitcher slowly dripping water into it. It's also more convenient than running to get more water and much cheaper than doing that or getting home delivery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This part of the water cooler dispenser was wonderful.... This part of the water cooler dispenser was wonderful. There’s nothing like having a built-in filter and just having to add water from the tap. However, I would not recommend the actual water cooler itself. It is very loud and noisy and the water was never truly cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money Saver We have been getting water bottle delivery at home for many years. We are looking for ways to cut costs and when we came upon this, it was very exciting. It is much more light weight and does not take up a large footprint in our crowded house and looked easy to use. There were quite a few steps to do in the beginning to set up and install the system but once it was done, it works well and the water tastes as good, if not better than any bottled water.
