AnswersNot sure about Nest.....think Nest is a Programmable Thermostat. This thermostat is a Non Programmable thermostat, however, Honeywell has one similar that is Programmable for a few extra dollars. I chose Non Programmable as I like to turn the thermostat on and off at random myself, and not automatically.
Why does it say not to connect the wire to the compressor? We hear it running inside but we go outside and the unit is not on.

Are most non programmable thermostats have the same basic wiring harness or setup?

AnswersPretty much the difference is the non programmable will not change temps automatically. In my opinion programmables become the source of nuisance service call more than save energy in many cases. I have had to charge people for a trip and time just to change a setting, they can save some on forced air heat in most cases. Not usually so practical for radiant heat and air conditioning depending on the circumstances.but pretty much all; r=pwr+ c=pwr- w=heat g=fan y=a/c b/o=reversing valve (heat pumps)

AnswersNo backlight. Home Depot has NOT advertised this correctly. Only in the features section will you see it has NO BACKLIGHT like some other thermostats. I brought this to the attention of Home Depot over 3 years ago and it disappoints me that they still have not corrected the title!

AnswersJust press the keys its digitial .. You will see the temps ... Put it to the number you want it and thats it .. The ac will maintain that temp you picked ... I keep mine at 75 and its just right .. I have a 1 bdr. Condo ..

Works with a Bryant 90i heat-only furnace
Adding this review for anyone needing to replace their thermostat on a Bryant 90i (that had the Bryant TSTATBBNAC01 thermostat - see pictures).
This thermostat works. Don't connect the "C" connection per the instructions. The "smart" Honeywell thermostats do use the "C" wire, apparently to provide continuous power for the WiFi.
I put in two lithium AAA batteries so the tenants would have less trouble. The thermostat works fine.

Inexpensive simple thermostat perfect for rental properties
Bought this thermostat for my rental property extremely easy to install. Love having the quality of Honeywell for the price also. Have tried other cheap thermostats just to be disappointed in the end.

This thermostat is non programmable. My A/C unit would not turn on with the old one. so I went and acquired this thermostat. Since it was installed the temperature stays steady and at the correct temperature. Would recommend this product.

It is perfect of you like it plane and simple. Had a multi-function programmable thermostat and I hated it. It would always change the setting or stop, even if I reset it. This one has an on/off and temp setting, do not need anything other than that.

I would not purchase this product again nor would I recommend this product to anyone, the price is to much and this termostat has no light in the back ground making it impossible to see at night. I will be changing this device out as soon as I find the type that my home came with when we purchased it. Not worth the money.

Works perfectly. My old thermostat was old and wouldn't regulate the heat right. Half the time, the heat wouldn't come on unless I wiggled the temp button.
Now, this cost saving thermostat does a great job and it was easy to install. It's simple, no frills (which I never really need), it's accurate, and my home is now heated as I expect it to be. It looks very nice on my wall, too. Totally satisfied.
