Does it's job and then some so far.
Working good so far. Detector send high temp and high humidity warnings because we placed it in an attic space.

Most reliable
After trying several different water leak detectors, I finally chose to stay with this one for it's reliability. I've had some that fail when I needed it most, and others that gave false alarms. One kept losing connection with the WIFI. The rope sensor is a great invention, as I can lay it out to cover a large area under, say the kitchen sink. It works every time, even with the smallest leak, and believe me, we get plumbing leaks often. My only con is that it takes a while for the detector to send the signal to the app on my device. It could be a disaster if it's a pressure leak. My next project is to place a sensor around the air handler of the air conditioner in the attic. At 20 feet away, a series of rope extensions is a little costly, so I hope an audio extension cable will work, and then I'll route the sensor above the ceiling, and around the drip pan. I was reluctant at first because of the price, but if it saves further damage to cabinetry, and the ceiling, it is worth it.

Ordered Honeywell Lyric - got Resideo
Searched for a Honeywell Lyric water leak and freeze detector. Found it on Homedepot.com I thought. Ordered 2. Got something that says Resideo not Honeywell. is it the same device? No way to tell. Seems Honeywell spun off a division and named it Resideo. Still is it the same product just rebranded? I would say false advertising by Home Depot. I think I need to returnm these and ask for what I ordered and was displayed on the web site. Or these should be free. Not happy with Home Depot. I know nothing about Resideo but I do see a lot of issues with this device.

    Saved me from major damage!
I'm so happy I purchased this sensor. 3 days after installing it, my hot water tank released a whole bunch of water, which flooded my utility room. I would have never known about it because I rarely go downstairs. I received a notification on my phone and the alarm on the sensor alerted me right away. It saved my flooring and walls!

    Works well, but confusing output
Using as temperature sensor at remote location; not using water leak functionality. Works as advertised. Easy set up. Only confusing part is how to interpret the graph over time of temperature. There are *two* series plotted on the graph, and I expect only *one*: the temperature at the time it’s taken (I have it set to record every 8 hours). Nowhere in the documentation is this explained why there are two curves plotted on the temperature graph.

Device Offline Detected often and Resolved
This product is great if it works! I have a mesh Orbi system and the WiFi signal is strong where I have placed the detector. I have configured the unit with 2.4G WiFi and have denied access to the 5G WiFi. So the only connection is 2.4G. Sometime multiple times per day and sometime once in a few days I get a notification of "Device offline detected'! While checking my router and my WiFi, I can see that nothing has changed and everything else connected to my WiFi works without any problems. I have attached the last three (3) screen images of the recent activity log shown by the app! It is very frustrating that I can't find out what the cause and the remedy is!

I have had to septic backups into my home through utility room drain (lowest spot of the basement) to the point it wasnt noticed until the living room area carpet absorbed (eeekkk!) the water too. install the new fangeled gadget...Cool to see temp and humidity from anywhere. So sleeping one night I was awoke...to a loud screaming alarm (what the heck is that?) I sought out the noise. My humidifier water which drains direct into drain. the hose wasnt flowing properly, caused humidifier to puddle water on floor and drain via gravity. It hit the sensor... Whamoo!!! Lyric warned me of a leak... Awesome! Awesome! Awesome. granted it was really a minor problem but the unit worked... So far? Love the peace of mind! Cool gadget.

      Simple. Works Pefectly.
This device works perfectly and is incredibly simple to get up and running. You do have to install an app on your phone or tablet, and you will also need to make an account. After that, just plug batteries into the device, pair the device to the app, and you're up and running! It detects the temperature and humidity and also checks for leaks. If a leak is detected the device beeps loudly and also notifies you via email and also via app notification. You can also designate multiple email addresses to contact. You can also set up the device to notify you if the temperature and/or humidity exceed a specified range. For example, you can be notified if a room reaches freezing temperature. Or too high of a humidity. My only tiny complaint about the device is that you can only take temperature readings once, twice, or three times per day. I would have liked to be able to take readings much more often. Overall it works incredibly well and could not have been easier to set up. I would definitely recommend this device to a friend.

      Neat Little Device
This Honeywell Lyric Water Leak and Freeze Detector is a device that can potentially save you thousands of dollars by detecting a water leak right when it begins or by detecting freezing temperatures or high humidity before they can cause damage. Setting up the device only requires putting in three AA batteries and following the instructions of the Lyric app. If you don’t already have the app then of course you will need to download it and set up an account. Everything appeared to be going smoothly until I ran into a snag. The Leak Detector connects to my WiFi but is having issues communicating with the Honeywell server. I’ve taken a number of steps myself but have yet to resolve the issue. I’m now in the process of troubleshooting the issue with Lyric Support. They have been great in that they respond quickly and are very helpful at going through the steps to resolve the matter. While I have not been able to use the Leak Detector with the app, I have tested it by itself. There is a short delay of about 20 seconds but when the device or the cable gets wet, the audible alarm sounds. Despite the issues, I went ahead and placed it under my kitchen sink. I have had two prior incidents where this would have really come in handy. On one occasion a pipe was loose and on another the faucet hose sprung a leak. Both times the entire area under the sink was completely soaked. In reading other reviews, my issue appears to be an exception so I didn’t decrease my rating. This leak and freeze detector probably isn’t a smart home device that you will bother showing off to your friends but if there is ever an incident you will be extremely glad you have it.

I'm Ready for the next time.....!!!
About 2 years ago we had company over, One of the kids had used the first floor toilet and clogged it causing it to overflow directly into the finished basement, Running un-noticed for almost 3 hours filling the 1200 sq. foot basement with about 6 inches of water and ruining everything from the ceiling to the floor..Totaling almost 24,000$ in damage.... . The point is that a simple dependable unit like this would would have prevented probably 95 % of the damages from occurring, I've seen much cheaper units, But wanted something dependable from a trusted name like Honeywell, That would notify me as well as others if I wasn't home that something was going on. As long as you have an I Phone or Android you can give yourself the protection you need from not only flooding but freezing as well as excessive Humidity changes. Set up is very simple and takes less than 5 minutes on your. phone....There's also an independent audible alarm built in as well.... which is pretty loud and I could easily hear it on the 1st floor from the basement, Its solid and can be wall mounted using the included sensor or just laid on the floor near a problem area.... Well worth the money,, Think of it as an insurance policy you only have to pay for once

Easy to use and better than expected
A long time ago I had some flooding in my basement. Everything's been resolved but I always worry about it happening again because it's not a cheap or easy thing to deal with. I had purchased some other leak detectors but there were some drawbacks. The first simply sits on the floor and sounds an alarm if it senses moisture. It works well but you have to be within ear shot of the device. The second was a little better. It had the sensor and a wireless receiver that sounded the alarm. The sensor itself didn't have an alarm and the receiver's alarm was very soft and somewhat flaky with the wireless signal. There was also no way of knowing if there was a leak if you weren't home. The Lyric Water Leak Detector can alert you to leaks with an alarm on the sensor as well as send you email and or phone notifications. In addition to detecting leaks, it also monitors temperature and humidity. The unit uses 3 included AAA batteries that will last up to 3 years. The included batteries were a well recognized and regarded brand which I appreciated. The sensor body has a moisture sensor on it, two metal pins, which allows you to put the detector flat on the floor to sense for water. It also has a 4' water sensing cord that allows you to mount the sensor on a wall or other surface and have the cord on the floor. You can buy additional cords and increase the length of your detection area. If either sensor detects water the detector's LED will flash red and it starts to beep loudly. Loud enough that I can hear it from one floor above. Sometime within the next minute you will receive an email notification and/or alert on your smartphone provided you set that up and the Lyric Water Leak Detector is connected to your WiFi network. I tested both the cord and the pins and both responded by sounding the alarm and sending notifications. When you get a notification on your phone you also have the option to mute (and then unmute) the alarm so the detector will stop it's loud beeping. You can also disconnect the cord if the leak was detected through the cord or dry the contact pins to make the detector stop beeping. Temperature and humidity work a little differently. Instead of being near instantaneous, the WLD checks the temperature and humidity every hour. Then 1 to 3 times a day it will upload that information to Honeywell's servers which then allow you to see the high and low temperature and humidity on a graph as well as the last reported reading. You can specify how many times the WLD updates. The default daily update will allow the unit to run on the same batteries for up to 3 years. Setting it to 3 updates a day reduces the battery life span to up to 1 year. The temperature and humidity detection may be delayed by about an hour since it only checks it once an hour. The humidity function is great for me and I didn't realize it had that feature. I have a dehumidifier running in my basement during the warmer parts of the year. The location doesn't make it easy to plumb it to a drain so I have to manually empty the bucket every few days depending on the weather. Sometimes I don't go into my basement for days at a time and forget to empty the bucket. Now with the WLD I get an alert letting me know the humidity is too high (or too low). You can set at what percent humidity (high and low) you will get alerts. Same for temperature. Now I can empty my dehumidifier more regularly. The high and low temperature warnings can also alert me of issues that may cause pipes to burst. The Android app was easy to install and the WLD was easy to set up. Just make sure you install the phone app before putting batteries in the device. After you put the batteries in the device the blue LED wills start to flash and it will be ready to pair with your phone. After 5 minutes of inactivity the device will turn off the ability to pair to conserve battery power. Just install the app, register your account, take out the batteries, wait a minute, put them back in and try again. I ran into this problem. One more tip. If you're using the cord, you'll have to remove a rubber stopper on the input jack. I put the stopper in the battery compartment so I don't lose it in case I decide to use it without the cord in the future. Honeywell even has a public cloud based API to allow you to integrate the leak detector with other systems like IFTTT if you are a programmer but for most people it means it will be easy for other device manufacturers to integrate WLD into their devices and systems. There are a few things I wish were better though that hopefully Honeywell can address. When I get an alert on my phone it's just a quick beep like other notifications. If there's a water leak detected I'd prefer to have an alarm that will go off continually until I turn it off so it gets my attention or wakes me if I'm asleep. This could be something a user can change and maybe it would be good to have the option of an alarm for the other alerts as well. There doesn't seem to be a website that you can log into to see the same info as on the app. That would have been nice in case you're somewhere without your phone and want to turn off the alarm but this is minor. I would have preferred if there was a way to use the device directly without going through Honeywell's cloud service or use their API but with a small device like this putting that much processing into it probably isn't feasible but I still would have liked someway to talk to the device directly through my local network without going through the Internet. Also it would have been nice if I could connect the WLD to my WiFi network using WPS so I wouldn't have to type in my WiFi password. I'm really happy with how well it performs and even though I hopefully won't have to deal with another leak, the humidity alerts are a great way to make sure I empty the dehumidifier bucket regularly.

Peace of mind Water and freeze sensor!
My condo has a habit of loosing power, I have a 2hp water pump and a water powered backup pump. Still I always worry when it rains. Having a Wifi leak sensor makes life a little easier. Honeywell Lyric is a WIFI connected platform that simplifies home comfort, Water leak detection - my last leak cost my insurance $5000 in damage, I like being notified of a water leak while it's measured in drops rather then feet. Battery operated I don't have the additional worry of the power going out. This unit has mobile and audible alerts - notifications and/or text messages can alert me, wherever I am, while audible alerts sound when I'm at home. Temperature and humidity sensing - use to detect temperatures that can freeze pipes, and humidity that could damage valuables. Reusable - this device is reusable even after detecting an incident. Connects to standard Home Wi-Fi directly - no need for an extra hub. Very satisfied.

      One glaring omission
The sensor was very simple to get set up. I downloaded the app for my iPhone and created a user account via the iPhone app. After confirming my email address, and supplying physical address and a location name I was able to link the sensor to my iPhone. Syncing the two together went flawlessly. The app found the sensor, and connected to my WiFi network without problem. (tip: do NOT install the sensor batteries until you are prompted to do so. If you install them too early the sensor goes in to a sleep mode to preserve the battery and will need to be reset to sync). The sensor takes 3 AA batteries, which Honeywell claim will last up to 3 years in its most conservative mode (seeing temperature and humidity readings once a day). At its most 'talkative' when sending these readings 3 times a day you can expect 1 year of battery life. I'm curious as to why there is no way to hook up an external power supply. The only method to power this is to use batteries. This seems like a glaring omission to me. I'd like the option to power by an AC adaptor, and thereby increase the amount of daily readings, and remove the limitation of the sensor only checking for leaks every minute. The device has two probes on the back that can be led flat on the floor to sense water, it also has a wire probe that can work in tandem to sense areas the probe is place in. Each wire probe is 4 feet long, and they can be connected together in a chain to form a longer lead. The sensor alarms along with the alert on your smartphone. So anyone who is in the location but does not have the app will know there is a problem. To preserve batteries, the sensor comes alive every minute to sense a leak or freeze. With a water well, pressure tank, and related ancillary plumbing in my well house, they sensor will keep an eye on an otherwise unmonitored part of my home. This is yet another IoT (internet of things) device that requires its own application. I'd like to see HoneyWell link this to the HoneyWell thermostat application and other IoT apps.

      Simple and Quick Install
Within 5 minutes i had this up and running. Run off of battery and does not need to be plugged in. Install the app for IOS or Google play. Install batteries and follow the instructions. It can alert you via app or email if a temperature or humidity falls out of your selected range. You can set the paramters for both so you can adjust to your settings. Great for basements that are prone to flooding or even under sinks. You can lay the unit itself on the floor or if you are tight on space it comes with what looks like a headphone cord which acts as a sensor itself. So you can hang the unit and use the cord to touch the area you want to sense. You can even just lay the unit itself on the floor. You dont need the cord but i used it so i dont misplace it.

      Nice
This was easy to set up. First get the app loaded as this is controlled by app so you will not need a home hub etc. After you have the app loaded and batteries installed connecting for me went fairly quick , connecting to my wifi was also a snap , but make sure you know your password if it's necessary . Configuring and alarm set up goes quickly through the app , you do need to know high and low parameters for temperature and humidity which can be updated any time using the app. The mobile alert was quick since its summer I put this in the freezer and it worked quickly . I'm not too sure how this will work for my application in a vacation home since it is only powered by batteries . I've had another system in a previous home that was USB powered with battery back up. The cable included is a sensor extension not a power cable. Thought since this unit is only battery powered you can use it where you might not have a power supply. Time will tell if this can truly used for my application but it seems to be doing the job. Having it be able to work with a home hub would be nice so it could also interact with other wifi items in your house.

      Valuable Device
Always concerned for the catastrophic damage a water leak can cause, particularly since our home is seasonally occupied, I was pleased to try this product in my laundry room. Set-up was not as easy as I would have desired, as it was necessary to download the Honeywell app onto my iPhone and to run the program in order to connect the devices through my home WiFi. For some reason, the app would not accept my G-mail address and password, so I had to create a separate Lyric account. Then the app required a successful connection through the Internet, which didn’t happen on the first try, but did on the second try. Finally, it required a pairing of the device to the home network, but this was unsuccessful using the batteries that came with the product (manufacturer says 3-year life?). I changed them out for new batteries I had at home, and then the pairing was successful. I then attached the cable sensor to the device because I wanted to mount the device off the floor, to avoid having it damaged by foot traffic or falling hazards. I placed the water-sensing end into a cup of water to test it and got no reaction from the device. I removed the cable, and placed the device itself into a sink with a small pool of water in it (see photo), and after about 1 minute, it started to beep loudly indicating it sensed the water. About a minute after that, I received an email that water had been detected by the device. I removed the device from the water, cleaned it off and reset it (by removing and reinserting a battery), and got another email that water leak was "resolved" (see photo) -- fascinating! I subsequently tried the cable sensor again, and again it was not successful. I repeated this sequence one more time without the cable, and was able to activate the sensor (and got another email alert). Bottom line, the remote cable sensor did not seem to work, so that I have to leave the sensor on the floor to operate. A pleasant surprise to me was that I was able to also receive updates on my iPhone app showing the temperature and humidity sensed by the unit, up to 3 times daily (you can adjust the app settings to select the number of daily updates you wish to receive to between 1 and 3 times daily) - see photo. The app also allows the user to set alerts when temperatures or humidity go above or below certain levels set by the user. However, the app warns that it can take up to 48 hours for this monitoring to begin. That long delay, in itself is a bit puzzling, but having used this for a couple of days now, I can say it does provide that information, which is particularly helpful during long periods when the house is vacant and you’re uncertain your air conditioning and heating system is working properly. Although I was unable to get the cable sensor to work, and the device set-up was a tad frustrating (batteries were dead?), there are enough valuable features to recommend this product.

      Feeling Protected!
These detectors work well and are flexible to install because of the remote "rope sensor". I tested both the water sensors under the main unit, as well as the rope sensor to confirm all are working as intended. The audible alarm is quite loud, and I receive notification on my phone and via eMail if there is water detected or the temperature or humidity go beyond the range I selected. Would have given "Four Stars" if the temperature and humidity readings were more accurate.
