Hi Charity! Sounds like the grommet on the shelf where the clean water tank sits may be slightly pinched which causes water to leak on to the shelf and once the cleaner is reclined back you will see water leaking due to a drain hole designed for this specific purpose. Remove the tank, there is a rubber seal/grommet that needs to be covering the valve on the shelf completely. If you noticed its "pinched" simply re-position the part that's off track. Dry the shelf with a paper towel or cloth and this should solve the problem. Hope this helps! -Giselle, Hoover Customer Care

Hi Jerry, Oh no, that doesn't sound too good. We want to help. If you are experiencing a loss of suction please try this: You can test suction by removing the dirty water tank, turning the unit on, and feeling suction from the openings where the dirty water tank sits. If you are feeling suction, the problem will be with the tank or a possible clog in the nozzle and inlet tubes. Check the filters at the top of the tank to make sure they are not clogged, and ensure that the tank is locked into place. The nozzle is easily removable by pulling on the latch and removing it. Check the inlet tube for any clogs and make sure that the nozzle is not clogged. If you tested the suction and you felt no suction, we recommend bringing it in for inspection. Your unit comes with two year limited warranty that protect it against manufacturer defects at no cost to you. To find a repair center, you can here: http://hoover.com/locator/. Yes Roxie I had the same problem I am going to return my unit
Hi andy! If the hose is not seated properly in the holster when washing the carpets this can cause the hose to leak. Please ensure the hose is seated all the way down in the holster when you’re not using the hose. Otherwise the water and suction will go to the hose instead of underneath the unit. If further assistance is needed feel free to reach out to us via Facebook or Tweet us @HooverUSA. We’re here for you! –Karissa, Hoover Customer Care
No I don't unless you seal it yourself.
