Discoloration
I was between a solo stove and the hot shot and tried the hot shot with the better price. Should have tried solo stove because after only 2 uses we have a lot of discoloration. Pretty expensive for that to happen right away! I cannot find a number for customer service on their website.

The produce a chemical reaction to the extreme high heat, which is what causes the silver-toned stainless steel color to develop a golden variated patina. It's Lit!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent fire pit. The stainless steel look is nice and the quality is great. I put 3 logs in and they burned for about 4 hours which is quite impressive! The fire was clean the whole time without a lot of smoke. Clean up was easy, I waited until the next day and hosed it off. It also comes with a nice travel bag. This is a product I could recommend.

I was looking for a portable fire pit that I could carry in an SUV while camping in a small RV. This small model was just what I was looking for. I took it camping last weekend and it was great at the state park campsite, plenty warm and little smoke in the eyes. And it seems to comply with state park regulations as well. I have had it for about a month now. One unanticipated downside is that the wood bundles that are sold at campsites are too long to fit into it, so I have had to cut them down to size.

Update to previous review
UPDATE to my previous review:
So the unit arrived and I was unable to get one of the three screws secure to attach the steel baffle plate. Once I calmed down and looked with a bright light into the threads that the screw went in I discovered burrs in the threads. Bought a 4mm tap at the auto parts store and ran it thru and cleaned the threads up perfectly. Screw tightened perfectly! I am very happy with the stove. Works great on my concrete patio. I shouldn't have had to do the fix but it gave me some practice.

Hot Shot Customer Service
Just arrived and I was anxiously putting together. There are on 3 screws involved in the assembly and one of mine has a stripped thread for the screw to thread in for assembly. I called the GPH company number for warranty service and the lady helping me (?) said they don't have parts to send out to fix it. I requested she send someone out to the assembly floor and send me a new breacket. She said they could not do that. So now I will call Home Depot to try to get some help. I love the look of the fire pit, Exactly what I wanted.

Works good. Burns completely. Small but meets my needs. Wood works best it cut in 9 inch lengths.
