Is the cover spring loaded and/or will it stay open? Want to use for outdoor audio plate cover but don't want door spring trying to close shut on wire

AnswersIt is spring loaded, but doesn’t lock open. It will not hurt your cords because the cover will gently rest on the cords. The spring action is not that heavy to where it would allow the cover to cut into the cord.
Will this cover work using the same screws that are used to hold the outlet to the box that is fastend to the stad?

AnswerI meant what kind of "heat", if that wasn't obvious enough. Anyway I looked up what material pipe insulation was made of, because those gaskets resemble that, and polyethylene foam is said to melt between 105 to 180 F, depending on the type. I've read that things like dimmer switches can easily get into the 130s even when they are not overloaded.
On the MX1250S do you know what the HTS Code is?

Great Replacement Cover

The 25-year old GFCI cover on our outdoor outlet snapped off and I needed a replacement. This cover fits the bill perfectly. It is made of a good powder coated metal material, comes in several colors, and was easy to install. It is spring-loaded, so it will automatically spring closed after you have unplugged something from it. The price was good for what you are getting. The only improvement I could recommend to the manufacturer would be to add a mechanism to keep it in a locked-open position for when you are installing it or when you are using it. Otherwise, a great product that I highly recommend.
