Questions & Answers

Would this work as a chandelier cord cover, instead of existing chain?

It might. It depends upon what the connection is at each end. and if the wiring is long enough.

Lu

Can this be used on a sloped ceiling? Or is this only for a flat ceiling? If it is only for a flat ceiling, does Hunter make a sloped ceiling adapter kit specifically for this rod?

Yes it can. We have used it on both slope and flat and was no problems whatsoever

I need a 24 in. down rod for a Hunter Cavera fan. I need the non-threaded end to be compatible with the Cavera mounting bracket.

With my hunter fan the other end threads into the supplied mounting bracket that comes with the fan.

This may fit it if the diameter is 3/4 inches. However, since the Kensgrove is not a Hunter fan, we can not guarantee compatibility. ~Kevin

Switching my home from the all gold ceiling fixtures the house came with, to anything else! I found a wonderful brushed nickel fan for my living room, but it had a two foot extension on the previous fan. I at first thought I would just try to match that, but when I was looking for that I came across this one, matched my new fan perfectly and brought it closer to us. It was easy to install, fit a standard ceiling fan perfectly and looks like it was just made for this fan. We are very happy with the outcome!

If your ceilings are in the 12 foot range, buy the 24inch not the 36inch. I bought the 36inch downrod for a renovation project where i vaulted the ceilings in a great room. Upon first glance I thought that this rod would be tje perfect length for the application. However, once I got it back to the jobsite and installed, it was clearly too long. The rod wasn't too much trouble to install, and it looked great. My only gripe was that it was too long. My ceilings were 11 feet 10 inches. The 36 inch rod made the fan hang really low in the room, and made the ceiling feel low. I returned it, and swapped it out for a 24 inch rod. Problem solved. This rod matched my fan well, and I didn't have any issues with the quality. If you have ceilings that are in the range of 12 feet(even if they are a little taller), this rod is probably going to be too low. My attached photo shows the issue pretty well. If the rod is 3 feet tall, and the fan is over a foot tall from the top of the motor to the bottom of the globe or lights, then thats 4 feet. That means that on a 12 foot ceiling, you bottom of your fan is at 8 feet off the floor. And if your fan is taller than 1 foot, then the fan will be lower than 8 feet of the floor. My advice is to give it some serious thought upfront because if you pick wrong, you will have to do the job 3 times. 1. the initial install, 2. the deinstallation, 3. the reinstallation with the new rod. And please be aware that you have to completely disassemble the fan (blades and all) in order to remove the downrod.

Installed this on a Hunter fan. The ground screw supplied with the fan is too large for the extension. I had to drill and tap it to accommodate.
