I did have an issue screwing it into the fan, but it was because the threads in the fan housing were rough and had to be filed. Home Depot store in-stock quantity was three but none were available, so I had to go cross-town to the other store to buy. The cap on the rod that comes with the unit has to be disassembled and reassembled on the new rod. Pay attention to the steps because it is easy to mess them up, just a minor annoyance.

I bought the 36inch downrod for a renovation project where i vaulted the ceilings in a great room. Upon first glance I thought that this rod would be tje perfect length for the application. However, once I got it back to the jobsite and installed, it was clearly too long. The rod wasn't too much trouble to install, and it looked great. My only gripe was that it was too long. My ceilings were 11 feet 10 inches. The 36 inch rod made the fan hang really low in the room, and made the ceiling feel low. I returned it, and swapped it out for a 24 inch rod. Problem solved. This rod matched my fan well, and I didn't have any issues with the quality. If you have ceilings that are in the range of 12 feet(even if they are a little taller), this rod is probably going to be too low. My attached photo shows the issue pretty well. If the rod is 3 feet tall, and the fan is over a foot tall from the top of the motor to the bottom of the globe or lights, then thats 4 feet. That means that on a 12 foot ceiling, you bottom of your fan is at 8 feet off the floor. And if your fan is taller than 1 foot, then the fan will be lower than 8 feet of the floor. My advice is to give it some serious thought upfront because if you pick wrong, you will have to do the job 3 times. 1. the initial install, 2. the deinstallation, 3. the reinstallation with the new rod. And please be aware that you have to completely disassemble the fan (blades and all) in order to remove the downrod.

On full speed it blows super hard, maybe a little too much (Think, helicopter); we have to keep it on low speed. The package did not come with the mounting bracket. Instead we got two ofSomething we only needed one of. Reordered it and are good to go.
