I needed a 12 inch down rod in my application and bought this Hunter. I originally bought a cheaper Hampton Bay (Holly Springs) but the generic down rod at Home Depot didn't work and had to returned it. BL: buy Hunter if you need a longer down rod. The down rod change out was simple. The tricky part is mounting the light kit to the motor. Screw in two screws halfway as they say. You have to be patient and work the light kit onto the two screws. The third one goes in last on purpose. Be careful as there is open slots that the third screw could fall in. Hint: tip the unit slightly at a 30 degree angle. The styrofoam base is handy to hold the unit. Masking tape the open holes if you are the cautious type or clumsy. Be sure to remove the tape after you get the third screw in. Important: Don't remove the black rubber bushings on the motor thinking that will help you get the light kit on. The next hard part is doing the light kit electrical connection. You have to connect it and carefully shove everything back in. There is a white metal lid cover for the electrical connections. It took me several attempts to get all the shoved in. After this... everything went great and fast. If you are a beginner this fan might be too challenging. Hint: You need a few different sized Phillips Head Screwdrivers to install.

Love the sleek, clean lines of this fan. We bought this to replace an out of date ceiling fan and to have one with a light.

Nice fan , quite & well balanced. I installed in a bedroom 10 x 12. Light brightness is adequate. The only “ complaint “ I have is that I wish the medium fan speed was a little faster. Slow speed is slow , very little air movement. High speed is fast, lots of air movement. Medium speed is closer to slow speed. I wish there was a little more air movement on medium. Overall happy with purchase.

This is for the model 59268 Anslee bronze fan. Installing the fan body was a piece of cake. Installing the light kit was a pain. You have to thread the screws thru a jungle of wires a seen in the photos. If you install this yourself just beware.

It is in a spare room so I barely use it but I don’t like looking at the gap!
