    A:  If I remember correctly the longest rod they sell is 36" but that is bought separate. It only comes with a 6" rod. We have cathedral ceilings too but we only needed to buy an 18" rod.

          A:  The short answer is yes ! It may take you a bit of time to get the right words that Alexa will understand, but that is an ALEXA question. This fan is totally ALEXA compatible

            A:  I have only been able to get basic on off commands thru Alexa. Found it more efficient to use the remote to reverse. Try a chat with Hunter support. I initially had problems with the really bad app they are using, but support was able to solve my issue.

              A:  Hello John, we would recommend checking the advanced setting with Alexa for the correct command. You can also reverse the fan with the remote. To change the airflow direction with the remote, press and hold the fan button for 5 seconds while the fan is running.                 Q:Is the internet required for the fan to work and be controlled by the app? For example if I use this off the grid in a cabin, would it work with just wifi (no internet) ?

                  Would not recommend. Actual appearance is tremendously different than what is depicted on the box. Matte Nickel is an accurate description but it appears closer to Nickel on the box. Operates well, but was severely unbalanced. Extra weight was needed (outside of what was included) to balance the blades. The light is also not as bright as expected. Easy to assemble & install.

                  I like the fan now. In the beginning I was excited about it, then it was installed and had some issues. It’s best to install this fan on a regular switch and not a dimmer switch, the instructions don’t spell that out for you. It works well and integrating it with WiFi is simple and a task that is easily accomplished. I like the overall design, the speed and the fan is fairly quiet as well. It would have been nice if the remote color matched the fan. The light is also very bright which is a plus, in addition to the dimming feature. Most of the instructions have to do with assembly, very little for operation. If you have a dimmer switch, change it when installing this fan and save yourself some operating headaches.

                  I've installed more than a dozen fans over the years; this one is the first I've had with any installation difficulty. I also wish it had wall-mounted motor controller pot and a light dimmer like the Casablanca Intelitouch; that would seem easy enough since Hunter now owns Casablanca. But no, you'll have to use a hand-held remote to change any settings. I like the fan, but here are a few INSTALLATION TIPS: 1) The fan mounting bracket is sized to install on an uncovered electrical box. If you're like most people, you'll be replacing an existing light with this new fan. That means there will be a cover between the box and the ceiling drywall - which uses the screw holes required for the mounting bracket. You'll need to dig through the drywall to find and remove the 2 screws attaching the cover to the box. Be careful that you don't dig out too much drywall, but there's plenty of room for the fan's bonnet to hide what you've done; 2) the bonnet is NOT designed to be flush with the ceiling! If you horse around trying to get it to do so, you'll end up with black marks on the ceiling; 3) the screws used to attach the fan blades to the motor are off-set, so the blades are very awkward to install; I recommend using two people - one to hold the blade in place and also to prevent the motor from spinning freely - the second to drive the screws; 4) The threaded holes used by the screws to attach the blades to the motor are of poor quality. I had to use a tap to clean two of the screw holes so that I could drive the screws. I was a bit worried because I've never bought a fan whose blades weren't balanced out of the box and this fan came with a fan balancing kit. But, once installed, everything worked fine and I didn't have to balance the blades.

                      I bought my Hunter Cavera II 52 In. fan at the store a bought it home. Installation was straight forward, it was easy for me. We mounted the fan in our enclosed porch, it looks great and pushes a lot of air. The remote works good, we mounted it at the entrance to our porch from our living room. so far, the only thing negative I could say about the fan is I wish the remote was white, after all we did buy a white fan. I have not be able to to log on to to SIMPLEconnect yet, I can't get pass the create an account screen. We like the fan with or without the WiFi control.

                      Great fan ,excellent quality and loaded with technology!Initially had issues that others mentioned using with google home but finally the thing that got it linked up was as simple as turning off power to fan from light switch. First get the simple connect app (hunter fans) and then link to google . It was frustrating because i couldnt use voice commands as was suppossed to but just turning off wall switch did the trick!!

                        Great airflow and works flawlessly with Google Home
                        Installation was fairly easy and their video was helpful that I didn’t need to read the instructions. The airflow is amazing! I ended up getting two more! The fact that you can integrated with Google Home/Assistant without another hub is amazing. Some of the higher proced fans don’t even offer out of the box smart integration

                          Great fan - TERRIBLE instructions
                          This is an excellent fan with excellent airflow. The app and Apple HomeKit/Alexa integration is excellent also. BUT - The installation and smart function documentation is worthless garbage! Keep the fan and the engineers that designed it and FIRE the technical writers. I am very tech savvy but I always try to follow the directions because don’t think my ego is so inflated that I think I always know what’s right. I give the instructions a chance. In this case - the directions are USELESS. From beginning to end the directions were either overly complicated (putting the fan together) or completely lacking (WiFi/smart integration setup). For WiFi/smart setup: They tell you it only works with 2.4 GHz - not true or accurate in my case. The issue is that you have to make sure the fan is off at the source- not the remote. Turn it off for 3 minutes and then launch the downloaded Hunter app. Once launched - you have to go through the Apple HomeKit installation first (in my case - Apple phone) before you can proceed with the Alexa or Google integration. Then you must download the Alexa “Skill” - but only AFTER you have completed the Apple HomeKit installation after you have installed the “Skill” - you must search for new devices in Alexa. Once you have found the device - you have to rename it so you aren’t constantly trying to remember what kind of flipping fan you bought. In my case - I renamed it “Living Room Fan” Do it backwards -and it won’t work. I would assume it’s similar for android phones and Google Smart Home. So - great fan - terrible, rotten, awful documentation.

                          What a disappointment
                          Like others. I purchased the fan foe the smart-Tech. I put the fan together, no problem and Paid an electrician to hook it up to make certain it was done correctly. First it was great. But less than a day later the remote would not start the fan. I changed the battery, but still nothing. I turned the power on/off then the fan would work. But later would bit turn off. The remote is useless. The beep is annoying although I see some say you can turn that off but when I called in I was informed that you couldn’t. The dimming like others I’ve read is hopeless. At just over $200 after taxes I’m extremely disappointed in this product. As nice looking as it is mounted to my ceiling It’s a big eye soar because we can’t get it to work properly. Like others the trouble to take it down and return it (now without the original packaging) is upsetting. And the App; OMG. What a pain to set up. Safe your money and don’t buy this product. Wait until the tech bugs get worked out.

                            Looks good
                            I have tried to get a compatible wall switch (but without problems: batteries). but it is not possible because there is not. the control that comes with it is not what I want. and the wifi signal is very poor. I will return it after two weeks, it is a headache to find the remote control when children are using it
