Trak 72 in. Indoor/Outdoor Matte Black Commercial Ceiling Fan with Wall Control

I got this fan to put up in my shop. The installation was pretty straight forward, I have put several of these up in the past, but not this big of one. There is a guide tool to put in place to guide the mounting bracket and I found it to not help at all. I ended up having to put it together with out using the guide so I could get the pin lined up in the slot when I put the assembly onto the mount. I found that the unit tends to have a wobble once you get the speed past about half. There isn't much adjustment to control the wobble, but by shifting the blades I did get it to decrease slightly. The fan moves enough air that I'll probably won't need to worry about going fast enough to get the wobble. The remote and instructions for it are good. It came packaged pretty well. I did like that it was packaged and supported with cardboard, which can be recycled. Overall a good product, but because of the wobble, I can't give it 5 stars.

I obtained this ceiling fan for my workshop which I affectionately call the "clubhouse" It is a steel building in which I do everything from auto repairs/restorations to woodworking and crafts. I live in Gulf Coast Florida so summertime is very challenging. The fan came extremely well packed and was easy to sort everything out. The motor is quite substantial and requires heavier than average mounting capacity. Assembly was fairly straight forward but I had to review the instructions a couple of times as they are a bit unclear in places (and I have probably installed at least 50 ceiling fans). The blades are heavy extruded aluminum and remind me of aircraft wings. I don't like the power connector device at all, small connector into which the wires are fed and then screwed down to fasten while on a ladder ten feet or so in the air, yikes. Once together, it came to life at the first push of the remote. Eight speeds and it DOES move some air! I have it on a wall switch and it will remember the previous speed setting when I turn the switch back on. Packaging is all recyclable - no styrofoam. I'm sold on it!

I got this fan to move some air in my wood shop, which is a post- frame building. I have it heavily insulated, so it doesn't get extremely hot or cold. This fan was the perfect size to move a large amount of air around the shop, and make my window air conditioner unit work better. The quality, construction, fit and finish of this fan is awesome. It's a heavy unit, and has large aluminum blades. The included remote controls all of the speeds, direction of the fan spin, as well as the light kit (I opted for no light kit). The fan does require a minimum of 10 ft clearance from the floor, mine is mounted at about 15', and hangs to about 13.5". Some of the instructions are a little confusing, mainly, why I needed the guide to line up the ball in the bracket. That part seemed pointless, yet thoroughly confusing the way it was written. This fan is capable of working with a building management system, and has the network connection available. I'm not using a building management system, so I just tucked that network cable away. It also came with liquid tight cable connections, which I also did not use in my indoor installation. I also love the safety cable, to prevent an accident if the fan ever came unmounted. My wife always worries about a fan coming off the ceiling mount and causing damage - this one has a heavy duty cable to prevent that, and I made sure to point that out first thing. I installed this by myself, on a ladder, and it took me about 2 hours. It may have gone faster with help, but who's keeping track anyways?
