Questions & Answers

Description says extra blades are included...how many?

Asked by: Smacky1
No extra blades. See photo. But, the blade can be sharpened. You do this the same way a knife or scissor blade is sharpened. My smaller pvc cutter was used on metal tubing, leaving two small gouges. I sharpened it and it works just like new.

Can you cut 1" schedule 80 PVC pipe with this?

I'm working on a one time irrigation project with 1" schedule 80 PVC pipe. I know schedule 80 is thicker, so can I use this? I need to make relatively clean and square cuts before I use my chamfering / deburring tool (or whatever you call it) to smooth the edges out before cementing everything together.

I had difficulty cutting sched 40 - the thicker wall of sched 80, even at only 1" may be inpractical. Suggest you go to Home Depot near you and actually TRYcutting a piece of schedule 80.

can i cut 1-1/2 inch sch 40 pvc pipe?

Asked by: tfcheng
NO. Sched 40 1-1/4" fills the tool. You won't fit 1-1/2 at all.

I tried to cut 1 1/2 pvc about 10 times. Didn’t get one straight cut. Am I doing something wrong?...

I tried to cut 1 1/2 pvc about 10 times. Didn’t get one straight cut. Am I doing something wrong? Seems pretty straight forward.
Asked by: Ted
On these type of pvc cutters, it's best to mark a round line, if an exact straight level cut is absolutely necessary. Then you can start cutting and keep the blade positioned on the line.
