Will this cut 2” central vac pipe?

This can be used to cut 2" Central vac pipe, however proceed slowly you don't want to compress the pipe to the point that it shatters. Utilize the ratcheting mechanism and let the blade do the work. Hope this helps!!

The blade could be dulling, but usually gets 100's of cuts before getting dull. Make sure the blade is clean and free of any bends of dings. If so, the blade is easily replaced with the Husky 1-1/4" replacement blade sold right there in the aisle with the rest of the plumbing tools. Hope this helps!!

Pull the handles apart. There is a self locking latch that is easily overcome by just pulling the handles apart.

The Husky 1-1/4” PVC cutter has a lifetime warranty on the tool itself. The blade does not have a lifetime warranty because the edge will eventually dull. The Home Depot does sell a quick change replaceable blade however so you can always insure a sharp safe cut. Hope this helps!!

Will this cut 3/4” pvc thats been in the ground for 35 years without cracking the pipe? I have a leak at a union and want to fix the leak for now.

It may crack because older pipe is more brittle. But new, this blade is extremely sharp. If you take it slow and pause between ratchets, you should be fine. Hope this helps!!

On these type of pvc cutters, it's best to mark a round line, if an exact straight level cut is absolutely necessary. Then you can start cutting and keep the blade positioned on the line.

The husky 1 1/4" ratcheting pvc cutter is such a time saver, all you have to do is squeeze. That's it. I used it to cut schedule 40, 1" pvc pipe for a sprinkler manifold. The tool is fairly compact. I needed to cut an old piece off the manifold, and I didn't have a way to get a saw in the tight space, but the Husky ratcheting pvc cutter did an awesome job. I wish I had bot this a while ago. I had a different pvc cutter where I had to spin and keep adding pressure to the blade to cut, which works but needed much more working room. The ratcheting handle is more efficient.

I bought the tool and the replacement blade to cut 3/4" pvc pipe to extend and replace several sprinkler valves. omg, the tool worked great. Before this tool, the guy at Home Depot suggested I buy a small hacksaw, which I did. Yes, the hacksaw did the job, but the Ratcheting PVC Cutter was way faster and gave a clean cut. No need to sand the cut edge to get rid of the burrs (although it's a good idea to sand the top 1" of the outside of the pipe so it's a little roughed up for the glue to really grab on). The Racheting PVC Cutter is easy on the hands to use because it ratchets. You don't need a lot of brute strength to use this tool. My only one slightly negative comment is to hold the pipe as square as possible in the cutting tool when cutting - there's a tendency for the cut to veer a bit to to the right. The cut ends up not being completely 90-degrees, but it certainly was good enough for my purposes.

Had one at home that I have had for a while and worked great but dull. To my surprise the new one is redesigned and is it even better. It truly made this project a snap between cutting pvc and drip line with ease. Great product!

Aligning the tool with your markings is not exact for a novice like me, but overall I would say it was a great purchase. I built this backdrop using 1" PVC pipe and connectors.

(What's this)
The Husky 2 inch ratcheting PVC cutter cuts various sizes of sch 40 PVC piping up to 2 inches as well as CPVC, PP, PEX, PE and rubber hose. The cutter is made of aluminum and feels sturdy and comfortable in my hand. The ratcheting mechanism is metal and is fairly thick and looks like it should be able to take a beating. The quick change blade is made of steel and is convenient and easy to use. Once you remove the old blade, replacing a new blade is easy, you push it in and it clicks into place. The cutter comes with a lifetime warranty. Occasionally I would need to cut larger pipe sizes such as the 2" piping commonly used with pool pump & filter piping. In the past for this size pipe I would go to my power miter saw to cut the pieces I needed to complete the job. If you have cut PVC in this manner you have to clean up all the small loose PVC pieces when you were through. However, there were times I needed to cut this size pipe that had been installed so using the power miter saw was not possible. I found this cutter to perform this task with minimal of force while making a clean cut.

(What's this)
Just what you need for those occasional plumbing jobs. This large PVC cutter will handle up to 2" ID PVC pipe. That is about as big as I ever need for around the house jobs. With my old cutter, I had to go to a saw for 1.5" and above. This one has a very handy feature as well in that when the cut is complete, the blade snaps back to full open with just a pull on the moveable handle. One item mentioned on the package that I had never thought of using a cutter for was hose. It gives a quick clean, square cut on hose or tubing. Nice addition to my plumbing tools.

(What's this)
I picked this up as my pipe cutter was getting a little old and I had some projects requiring 2" pipe. This comes with a sharp blade and easy ratcheting action to adequately cut the pipe. I'm a taller than average guy with probably average sized hands, and found when cutting a two-inch pipe it was tough to get my hand all the way around the tool to compress the blade. If you are installing a sprinkler system for example, and are thinking "I'll just get the bigger cutter in case I ever need that capacity", I would recommend getting a smaller cutter that will be much easier to use on the dozens/hundreds of cuts you will make over the course of your project. You will soon tire of using something this big when it's not necessary.
