Questions & Answers

How to let this jack down?

Asked by: jackie
Take the handle out of the receiver and use it on the release valve...a 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch rectangle on the lower left side of the jack as you face the same side the handle goes in to. Turn the valve counter clockwise slowly to release. Then, return this jack to Home Depot. It lowered on me 2 inches while holding a load.

What is the Lifting Height? 16-24"

Asked by: TxsGhost
If I recall, it was 3 1/2" to 14", probably not ideal for a truck or large SUV.

Used this thing one and a half times, it broke with my car sitting on a jack stand... Home Depot will refer you to their Husky tools people where you need to email them back and forth and include pictures of the broken jack and then ship it to them so they can determine if a replacement will be sent to you. At the end of the day I just wanted my money back. I've already wasted too much time with this and the last thing I want is another jack that will leave my car stuck on jack stands... Hope this review helps someone, Mike

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute Garbage The jack worked good for one time out of the box. Now could barely lift a lawn mower. Waste of money. Extremely hard to pump have to use cheater pipe. Also bleeds down if over halfway up.

I read, and followed the provided instructions, but the jack would not operate under load. It worked by itself, but not when trying to lift anything. I called Home Depot customer service and was directed to call the manufacturer. I called Husky and was told to call another company, who actually make this jack. I called 4 times, but could never connect with the appropriate person. It seems that they had either gone home for the day (12 noon), or could not be located. I called Home Depot again and was told to return the jack, which I did. I took my refund and bought a jack at another store. To say that I was disappointed with this whole process would be an understatement. I am contemplating ever shopping at Home Depot again.

I just bought this jack and have not used it but I can tell a couple of things right off the bat. The gauge of the metal is pretty thick, I don't think it will fail if I have to jack a car on a less than level spot. The sheet metal plate on top is not secured very well and came right off when I pulled on it, maybe it is meant to? It just seems kind of cheap to me. The wheels that carry the load are fairly wide, which should prevent them from sinking into hot black top. The "saddle" is very small which might allow it to fit into the jack point notches on my car but it still makes me a little nervous. The professional jacks have a much bigger saddle to better distribute the weight. All in all I think it will work fine for my purposes as long as the hydraulics hold up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great I inherited a classic car with 4 tires that were flat and did not hold air. Able to get this Jack under the car ,through gravel no less, and get the car jacked up, old tires off, new tires on. Put it to a lot of use while we changed the oil etc. Simple to operate, sturdy, held up well.
