Gary, Each of our torque wrenches is sold with a calibration sheet from the factroy that is good for 90 days after purchase.

I believe it will be accurate down to 30 in.-lb. I just checked mine and it will dial safetly down to 22in.-lb. It is good practice to store a torque wrench at the lowerst setting. I store mine at 30.

Hello, You are correct, the diagram is misleading. While using an in-line extension is not recommended it is sometimes required.

Do I need to turn to max and min settings a few times before each use?

can't see where that is necessary. I do release the settings zero after use. also, I test the wrench on a heavier duty bolt prior to use.

Can a "cheater bar" pipe extension be used with this?

Asked by Gumpajim September 30, 2020

NO! It is designed to be gripped by the rubber portion of the handle only. If you need to use a cheater bar, you need a bigger torque wrench.

can you use this to torque lug nuts?

No, this unit measures in inch-pounds. You would need a unit that measures in foot-pounds. Probably between 50 and 100 foot-pounds, depending on the manufacturer’s specification for the vehicle,

Don’t buy, Does no work.
This wrench makes for a better breaker bar than a torque wrench. Second time using it, set it to 4lbs. Was tightening my valve cover and it crack the cover. Massive piece of garbage, what was suppose to be an easy project has now escalated to a massive headache.

Response from Husky Mechanics ToolsMar 10, 2021
Eddy, Sorry to hear your frustration with this wrench. Please keep in mind this wrench is only calibrated to work within the upper 80% of the scale, which is 20 ft./lbs. to 100 ft./lbs. With all click style torque wrenches, the 'click' will be much less noticeable at the lower end of the scale. HuskyMHT

Great Wrench but...
Why is the wrench in inch pounds but the directions are in foot pounds? Did they mean for the wrench to be in foot pounds? Would hsve been kich nicer.

It's been a LONG since I bought a new torque wrench. The first and last one I bought was a Craftsman one, probably about 40 years ago! It still works fine, but it only goes up to 90 ft-lbs. I needed one that can do at least 140 ft-lbs since I was replacing stuff on my Nissan LEAF: both wheel hubs, and A arm + steering knuckle on passenger side. The axle nut and A arm bolts call for 134 ft-lbs and 114 ft-lbs respectively. This Husky torque wrench works great! I love the spring loaded lock collar. It makes it difficult to accidentally change the torque setting. The thing is long and quite beefy. It definitely feels like it's up to demands put on it. Certainly, it worked like a charm for the axle nut.

Exactly what I needed for an auto repair project I did on my 1997 Suburban. However, being used to an older style torque wrench, I was used to a more pronounced torque "click", than this unit has. In comparison, its more of a subtle pressure change in my hand. If you want a quite pronounced "CLICK", this doesn't have it. However, it has the accuracy I needed, and I quickly adapted to the "click" type this unit delivers. Its a great tool for occasional use to be sure. I used it on the bolts for the rear main oil seal housing, and the side bolts on the oil pan. The oil pan corner bolts called for torque beyond this wrenches capability.

Great Torque Wrench
In today's world of Alloy wheels and disc brakes on every thing we drive, to work or play, it is imperative to have a good torque wrench to install the wheels as to not do distortion to either ! The poly plastic/rubber handle is comfortable and non-slip. The slip ring to adjust, is easy to reach and the scale is easy to read ! The certification sheet, 3 stage test done 3 times is nice to have ! The storage box is great but, the blister packaging is tough to get into !! I highly recommend this Husky tool !!

Hit or Miss QC
I bought one of these torque wrenches a few years back... have only used it about 15 times and really love it.....well when working on my car today.. I went to set the torque and the selection mechanism was jammed and unusable... I drove the hour to The Home Depot to use the warranty and was shocked to find out " I had to pay another 40 dollars to warranty it out..." I paid the difference and took the newly purchased one to the car. I figured I would open it up and make sure it worked properly before I left The store. This newly opened torque wrench selector handle was jammed just like the one I had just returned 2 minutes before hand... I had to wait in line once again to warranty out this unit that was just purchased...The person at the return desk stated " we have had quite a few people return these for the same reason...luckily the next and last one in the store that I got worked properly.
