Questions & Answers

Where is this made?

I try not to by items made in China.
Asked by: freddybear
Like most products, it is made in China. Don't believe the hype that China products are of the same quality as one other person said. One just needs to look at the difference between USA Craftsman and China made Craftsman. ALL these Chinese made products have a shorter lifespan. Look at the older Dewalt and Milwaukee products that works for decades. You wont find that with the new "same quality" china crap they want you to believe.

3/8 in. Drive 100-Position Low-Profile Long Handle Ratchet is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 103.

I bought it to use to remove bolts in very tight location while replacing power steering lines on my diesel truck. My regular ratchet throw would not allow me to even start to loosen the bolt

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks Good and Feels Good This black anodized 3/8th inch drive ratchet has a nice weight to it and it is a little lower in profile than my other 3/8th inch drive ratchets by around 1/8th inch (see photo). The socket engagement and release button sits flush with the head of the tool making the direction control lever the most protruding part of the back of the tool. Sockets engage securely and the fine 100 tooth wheel means that just 3.6 degrees of movement is necessary in order to engage the next gear tooth. A very useful feature when working in a tight spot. A split ring and cover keeps the internal parts in place and protected from dirt. The cover is very easy to remove if access to the internal parts is required. The tool length is 9-3/16 inches. There are longer handled ratchets out there but the overall compactness of this ratchet with a head width of 1-1/8th inch and height of 15/16ths will win over many. The legendary Husky Guaranteed Forever warranty and keen pricing are sure to make this ratchet a popular addition to many a tool set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A quality fine tooth ratchet with lifetime warranty This Husky branded 3/8-inch ratchet is a quality tool complimenting my minimal collection of fine tooth ratchets. It is definitely a fine tooth ratchet and will loosen/tighten nuts with just under a 4-degree swing. What is especially nice is the fact it comes with a lifetime warranty from Home Depot which instills confidence this tool will last. Ratchet head appears to have a non-sealed ratchet head making it field rebuildable which is eco-friendly leaving less scrap for the landfill. I do wish however it had a knurled finish on the handle versus the smooth round grip which to me is troublesome if you have greasy hands.

This was included in a set I purchased at Home depot maybe a year and a half ago. I keep it in one of my trucks and it seldom gets used. Looks and feels like a good product but it's not. First one failed got a replacement. Now the second one has failed. Basically the lever to change from loosen to tighten becomes jammed and ceases to function. Lifetime warranty doesn't mean anything if the product is poorly designed and manufactured. Not sure what to do. If I get another replacement I assume that it will fail as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and strong Nothing is worse than a finicky ratchet. That was my problem, after 25 years my old one would no longer change directions. So it was time for a new one. This Husky 3/8" ratchet is made of substantial steel. It has a good amount of weight for something so slender. The handle is also about a foot long which provides some great torque when you need it. I also appreciate the switch based left/right ratchet locking. It makes switching directions a breeze. Last thing to mention is the 3/8" head & ball. This ball does not actually have a spring behind it directly. Meaning you do not just push/pull the socket onto the ratchet head. Instead it is locked in place by a push-button on the ratchet head. I am pleased with this solution. Seems to be well constructed and I have hopes it will last me 25+ years also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tight-spot ratchet wrench I often mention my tractor in these reviews. It was a basic tractor with many things added-on. Consequently some of the bolts are VERY hard to get at. And once I get a socket on, there isn't room to take a wide swing on the wrench. (Some cars are no better.) Micro-ratchet wrenches help you out in tight spots. You only have to back-off a few degrees to take another pull. The 100-tooth design is a good compromise between utility and strength. This wrench works smoothly. Nice feel. Very nice surface finish. Direction lever flips easily. Socket retainer holds well and releases with an easy push. I got this wrench on one of the large bolts of my tractor. It did the job. It will be my go-to 1/2" handle. The handle is slim, good for the tight spot but hard on your hand. Find a bit of heater-hose to slip over it for cushion and grip. Put one drop of thin oil in the end of the quick-release then work the button to get oil down into the release mechanism. It can be a bit sticky when new, but this makes it release slick as a whistle.
