Husky 30 gallon
The Flywheel bolt was loose and the flywheel fell off during the break in process.

    Pretty Solid Product
Very good looking coming out of the box. This product runs great. Be sure to check for leaks. It had a leak from the main fitting coming out of the tank. The instructions tell you to fix any leaks as this tank may have been sitting for a while. When breaking the compressor in, be sure that all of the moisture is blown from the tank after your 20 min run. Moisture will build up in any tank. Last, be sure to grab an inline air filter to keep clean air through the tools used to perform your task!!!! This product will be a staple in my services.

Very happy with the purchase of this compressor! This replaces my 1995 12 gallon 1.5HP compressor, what a difference. The oil compressor is so much quieter than the old one and it has a much larger capacity. The adjustable regulator is very accurate and helps keep air tools at correct level. The first add on was an extended drain valve from Husky it really helps with draining the tank. The large air filled tires are a real plus even though it will probably not get moved around a lot.I did add a small baffle to direct the air toward the hotter parts of the compressor when running.Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it.

      Leaked From New
I had high expectations for this compressor. I performed the break in procedure as specified in the manual. After I charged the compressor I noticed a leak near the pressure switch. I drained the tank and unscrewed the output side of the pressure switch. I’ve included a photo of what I found below. There was no thread tape or pipe dope used in assembly. I added some thread tape to the assembly. This repair procedure fixed the leak. One of the main functions of an air compressor is to hold air. Its frusturating having to work on a brand new compressor.

Required Disassembly to Fix Air Leak
I purchased online. Had shipped to store near by. Picked up Compressor. Brought it home. Plugged it in. Started it up and immediately had a leak in a couple of the nipples. Had to unwire, disassemble, apply tephlon tape to fitting. Reassemble and re attach wires. Problem Fixed. As for loudness of compressor...At startup compressor is 89db standing next to unit. 72db 30 feet away at start up. With compressor tank at 150psi, standing next to unit db was 101 and 76 db at 30 feet at 150psi tank pressure. Also, my unit is in garage. Echo could be making it louder. Hope this helps. Id still recommend unit. Great compressor for the money

Broke during break-in. Isn't it ironic?
During the last minute of the 20 minute break-in there was a loud clanging and the fan stopped spinning. I could see through the cover that the belt fell off. I took the cover off to investigate why it fell off and saw that the bolt that was supposed to attach the fan was almost falling out. The I saw the cracks in the fan. What kind of crap is this?? Assembled in the USA?? SHAMEFUL! Why does it seem to be so hard to buy anything whether made in America or China that actually works? Now I need to deal with the return or exchange process after 20 minutes of having this thing. Not sure which way to go yet. Consumers should be reimbursed for the trouble caused by faulty items. I also spent time adapting a moisture/particle filter on to the compressor before I started breaking it in. Now I need to undo all of that work. At least I learned the lesson to do the break-in first next time. Oh, did I mention that there was a burr on 5he pulley that was already starting to chew up the edge of the belt? Dang!!

            Good Compressor
The packaging could have been better. The box had some rips and crunched side, But nothing was damaged surprisingly. After getting if unboxed and set in position I checked out the Quick start sheet. Was shocked when it didn't say anything about break in process, which you need for oil lubed compressors. So checked owners manual and found the break in process. Which is EASY. The compressor is pretty quiet. A lot more than my old 10 gallon craftsman. It ran right up to 175 psi in about 7 minutes. I started using it right away. aired up all my tires on the cars my truck and 2 trailers. Along with a few others that needed it and the compressor worked great. Kicking on around 120psi and stopping at 175psi in about 2 minutes. Seems like a well built unit and will update if anything bad happens.

The Husky 30 Gallon, 175 PSI Portable Vertical Electric Air Compressor is a well-designed, sturdily built machine that will supply all of my compressed-air needs now, and well into the future. The 2-cylinder, cast-iron, pump, 2 hp, 120 VAC electric motor, 30 gallon vertical air tank, pressure switch, air regulator and quick-connect hose fitting are carefully attached with dolly handle and wheels into a 152 lbs. roll-about piece of machinery that can be positioned inside or outside of a small workshop or disconnected and wheeled to any convenient location, reconnected and put to work. Be sure to check the compressor oil-level site glass before operating the motor. I easily found a 16 oz. bottle of compressor oil to keep the oil level centered on the red dot in the glass. The 10 in. pneumatic wheels mounted to the bottom of the pressure tank should be pressurized to 30 psi (which will ease moving the compressor about). The output of the compressor connects easily to a dryer assembly or a flexible air hose with quick disconnect fittings attached. I tested most of my air-powered tools with this 175 psi compressor and found it to be more than sufficient to operate all of them. The running current ran from 4 to 7 Amps. I most enjoyed using the air safety nozzle to blow the leaves from the shop roof and deck and clear the cobwebs from the farthest corners, as this was easier than sweeping.

Awesome unit for portable use! We unboxed it today and were thrilled to see some of the features. When noted as portable, it fits the bill. Great size tires and framework for portability. The unit runs on 110v and the compressor was much quieter than we anticipated. You need your own air hose ... and of course a power source. This will travel well in our trailer when doing Disaster Relief Work! Can power air tools easily, though not big enough for powering major shop tools, such as enclosed sandblaster and plasma cutters, etc. Will be great for on-the-road.

I bought this product for my husband's birthday and he has been very happy using it since it is so much quieter than any air compressor he's ever owned and he was even able to hook up his old second tank for more Reserve would highly recommend
