46 in. Pegboard Back Wall for Mobile Workbench

Structurally a sturdy pegboard. I have no doubts that it can hold anything you want to throw up there. However, Husky STILL hasn’t fixed the misaligned hole issue that other reviewers mentioned (see attached picture). This lack of quality control is disappointing from Husky.

I bought this to complete my work bench (mobile). The instructions could have been detailed better. I found that loosely getting right & left bracket and bottom peg board together and then loosely getting the bracket on the work bench. Finally, getting the top peg board, tightening screws, and then pre-drilling holes for wood screws. It does feel get and sturdy.

Easy install. Looks great.

This item is a must have for any 46" Husky rolling tool chest work bench. It greatly expands the capacity and organization of the tool chest by freeing the entire top drawer of screw drivers when used with the Everbilt Gray Wall-Mount or Peggable Multi-Purpose Tool Storage Holder. The downside is that while the side posts aligned correctly with the existing machine screw holes on the work bench and were able to be screwed in with the machine screws, the two pegboard plates were then misaligned with their holes on the side posts. The holes in the side posts were slightly below the pegboard plates by about 1/8 of the screw diameter. And yes, I kept all the screws loose and not tightened down when assembling it so there was wiggle room to make sure everything fit. I probably should have drilled out the holes in the side posts, which would expose the metal and introduce rust eventually to the units, to get them aligned. Instead I leaned the plates at an angle so I could get the screws into the plates by angling the screws up a bit and threaded them into the hole on the plates. Once I had one side of the bottom peg board slightly threaded I did the other side, then went to tighten them all up. Repeated the process on the top peg board. Used a drill on the drill setting, not screwdriver setting, so the chuck wouldn't stop the rotation and just fired away. It took some effort and definitely stripped the screw holes while not setting the screws flush to the metal, but after drill tightening everything together it is solid. Not my most elegant work and this really should be fixed by Husky. Seems as if maybe they increased the thickness of the wood slab on top of the tool cabinet which caused this misalignment. Still a solid purchase and would buy it again knowing about the misalignment as it worked out anyways. See the images where a couple of the screws did not go all the way in, but in the end, no biggie.

Not a bad little system with one mistake in the manual, you need an 8mm socket for the self tapping screws, not a 10 mm one and they need to add a little kore tolerwnce to the screw holes

Well-built and sturdy. 4.5 rating. Pieces of the pegboard screwed together precisely. There is a design flaw, but it is not a deal killer for me. To attach the Pegboard to the tool chest, I only used the 8 screws that went into the metal…. pegboard seems to be secure using only holes into metal. I feared using the other 8 screws designed to screw into the wood to secure the pegboard after reading other reviews and the fact the holes are not aligned well and would only catch the top of the wood top. Both the Pegboard and Tool Chest Purchased in January 2021. Will they tweak the design?

Pegboard was easy and fast to install. Is very sturdy on the work bench and has some of my common tools readily available. On one side the machine screws seem to work them selves loose, but nothing a little thread locker wont take care of

Fit well with the 46 inch tool chest, had to drill holes into the chest for it as the holes were not predrilled. Overall happy with it as it holds everything I regularly use on a daily bases.

My wife purchased this for me as a Father’s Day gift. The instructions were a bit in error. It said to use a 10 mm socket to tighten the bolts for each corner brace when in fact it was 8mm. We also found two threaded screw holes were machined badly. We really had to work to set the screws properly. Once installed it is a really sturdy pegboard. I wish Husky created a shelf for it as the larger rolling workbenches have.

TLDR - The instructions for this product tell you to pre-drill holes in the sides of the wood top AND the metal sides of your work bench to install the pegboard. - Longer explanation - the workbench comes with holes pre-threaded to install the pegboard, but they don’t line up correctly. I believe the instructions to drill directly into the metal were added as a quick fix to a manufacturing issue. This product should not be sold as is, and as of writing this, it is out of stock. I decided to not drill in to the metal and instead use the pre-threaded holes and tilt the wood screws down slightly (as shown in photos) to avoid them coming out of the top of the wood top. By doing this though, there is a slight gap underneath the peg board and it does not sit flush. I also have some ugle crooked screws on the sides, however the pegboard does now feel secure enough to hold some minor tools. Dissappointed.
