Q:I was going to purchase another shovel (non wooden handle) and there was a warning on the handle that contact might cause cancer and it can not be sold in California. Is that also true about this fiberglass handle?

Q:What does the lifetime warranty cover

    Answer This Question

A:  According to their own warranty information it covers all damage and not just manufacturing defects. It tells you to just bring it back or call customer service. I am unsure why this support team member gave you the wrong information.

A:  The lifetime warranty covers any manufacturing defects and does not cover everyday wear and tear. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us at help.tusa@tramontina.com.

Absolute junk. Broke in first hour
Worst Husky item I’ve experienced. Fiberglass handle is a sleeve over a wooden shaft that snaps in half at the rivet. Couldn’t even get an hour out of this!

Good Shovel, I’ve had for a couple weeks now, works as expected, the small spade makes it perfect for removing the dirt in front of rain downspouts. I had to replace an old shovel that my son broke the handle on, I preferred the old one with a much lighter and slightly thinner handle. I guess that’s why the new ones have bigger handles… A new handle would cost more than a whole new shovel. So there you go in a nut shell, if you need a small shovel, for the price, I’d recommend this one to a friend.

Shovel Not Capable of Basic Digging
Shovel bent taking out simple bushes, not even ten minutes into the project. Fortunately we had two other “old” shovels with us!

Broke in half on first use
This is a cheap shovel. Shaft snapped in half on our first use. Get a metal one instead

              Terrible quality
This shovel lasted one hr before snapping in half while digging in a flower bed. We were not even digging in any rock or gravel. Terrible quality. Would not recommend.

                Very weak handle!
This Husky fiberglass handle shovel is almost like digging with a plastic fork. Under very little pressure, this handle snapped the third time I used it. I’ll have to buy a better brand if I want to go with a fiberglass handle shovel. Don’t buy this shovel! It will be a big disappointment!

                  Junk
Broke within the first week of using it. If you want a shovel you don’t have to worry about breaking go buy a kobalt. Cheap and lifetime warranty. Oh and husky’s shovel does not have a fiberglass handle. Check my photos

The handle stinks but it's an incredibly useful size.
The handle on this thing is downright miserable. It must have ten coats of poly on it which makes it smooth as butter but slippery as soon as your hands get sweaty. They tried to fix that by adding a piece of rubber for you to grip but the poly is so slippery the rubber slides around while you are trying to use it. Having said all of that... BUY IT. The head on this shovel is smaller than a standard shovel but larger than a hand shovel. It's right in that sweet spot in between and that makes it incredibly useful. I've been using it to dig out and transplant flowers and it is the perfect size. I can get around the plant surgically but without crawling around on my hands and knees. It's one of those "I should have bought this years ago" kind of tools.

This is a nice long shovel for small plantings in the garden.
The handle is fairly comfortable and it is easy to use. It is great to use if you dont want to be down on your knees with a hand shovel. The handle is made of wood and the spade of steel. Both are held together with a rivot which likely means this shovel cannot handle heavy duty digging. I use this for plantings of small shrubs and flowers in the yard. This shovel is made in Brazil.

                    Husky Shovel
The Husky 47-inch floral shovel handle is made of hardy eucalyptus hardwood that will give years of trouble-free service to the owner. The metal spade is fabricated from tempered steel and has a soft grip area for added comfort to the user. As with all of the Husky tools, it comes with a lifetime warranty. Made in Brazil to Husky's specifications and sold exclusively by Home Depot. The spade part is measured at 9 inches in length and 6 inches in width making it ideal for transferring flowering plants or shrubs in the garden. The tempered spade is not sharpened and has to be for more ease and penetration into the soil.
