Yes, the drawers CAN be removed. I just bought mine, and confirmed this fact. I removed all the drawers, and the chest was not too heavy to take it down, on its own wheels, on the slope side of my house, on the grass, to the walkout basement. Also, it had been asked, and several times incorrectly answered, whether drawer liners were included - yes they are, at least mine had them. They all are in a plastic bag in the top drawer. It is an excellent Tool Chest. Watch the price! When I bought mine five days ago, the price was $648, and according to HD website, it was in stock at the two stores close to me. I first went to the store that had two in stock, but they could not locate them based on the description. I then went to the other store, which had one in stock, gave them the SKU number (I did not have the number earlier) and they found it. I bought it and scheduled its delivery for two days ago. Once back home five days ago, I looked it up again, and the price had changed to $749! The $749 price remained for a few days, and I just noticed that it was down to $648 again, as when I bought it.

Heavy to assemble wheels but its sturdy strong. Would definitely recommend it but still think the price is on the hefty side. Still, the replacement wood top should be made available to order by itself or somewhere either from the manufacturer or the store. Or some kind of information easily accessible to us costumers and consumers.

Very sturdy except for the casters
I bought this to use at work. It initially had a huge dent that prevented the bottom right drawer from operating properly. I was able to beat the dent mostly out. I don't hold that against Husky. However, the plastic casters that come with it is unacceptable. How are you going to build a robust toolbox and then cut corners by adding plastic casters? Luckily it's pretty simple to fix that problem. The only other oversight is the fact that you can't lock the adjustable top to keep your small tools safe. Otherwise, I love how sturdy it is and how much roombis provided.

The tool chest had a very poor quality handle that is barely welded to the mounting plate and I wanted a replacement sent out. The customer service representative said I would receive a confirmation number when the handle was shipped. It has been a month and nothing has been delivered, no confirmation number to speak of. Cutting corners on components is never a good idea.

got the blue version, not happy with it
I bought the heavy duty, and extra expensive, box because I was expecting the quality to match the price, but I am not impressed with what I received at all. I'll start with the good - it does use the heavier gauge steel than their cheaper boxes, and the powdercoated finish seems like it should be a lot more durable than the paint that comes on most cheaper boxes. But there are several issues that indicate a lack of quality control from the factory, which is VERY disappointing when you shell out for the expensive, high-end box. It has no damage from shipping or handling by the way, it only has manufacturing defects. The first issues is with two of the drawers at the back right corner, where the back wall and the right side wall of the drawer are welded together, the right wall wasn't folded in all the way to the correct position when it was welded. It's only a little off but that's enough to cause the right side of the drawer to rub against the slide as you open and close it, and it also causes the back right corner of the drawer to bump into the end of the slide as you're closing it from the fully opened position. With my cheapo HF box, and several other cheap boxes that I've looked at since I received this one, I can't get the drawers to make contact with the slides even if I TRY to make it happen. The other issue is that other drawers have abnormally stiff slides even when brand new. It feels like they're sliding on bare metal rather than on the ball bearings. And they squeak a ton. I might try lubing them up but I will probably just end up returning this box, as these two issues already when brand new are not a good indication for it's long term quality. I will probably be returning it. I'm posting one picture of one of the good drawers, to show what the corner is supposed to look like, and several pictures of a bad drawer to show the issues I'm describing.

Worked great for my needs like the matte black finish. The adjustable top is a nice touch I probably won't use often but nice that it is there. The soft close drawers work but will need some breaking in when you first get one of these. I custom modified mine into a workbench hutch. Built the upper portion all myself can be seen here. https://youtu.be/L-NWb8A_-8k

Great Value and so functional! I love how the top is adjustable but I purchased a peg board to go with it and it didn't work with this model. Love the included accessory logo mats, the outlets that come on the side with USB outlets. Overall great product!

Works perfectly for what I needed. Just a place to store my tools, instead of a couple small boxes that I had. The drawers slide smoothly and the wood top is very good looking. Great value for the money.
