Inexpensive Heavy Duty Set
Every home toolbox needs a pair of locking pliers (a.k.a. vice-grips). Ever since Peterson invented the original Vice-grips a hundred years ago people have found that they are one of the most versatile tools in their collection. If you look around on-line you can even find long lists of uses for vice-grips. You’ll see everything from pulling out staples and headless nails to removing rounded-off screws and frozen bolts to clamping glued objects to clamping hoses. Heck, I’ve even seen people use them as temporary replacements for a doorknob and a faucet handle. This reasonably priced heavy-duty set will do just about anything you need it to do. As always, Husky hand tools have a lifetime warranty. If it fails, you just carry it back and they’ll replace it free. No questions asked, no receipt needed.

Nice set for the price
These are fairly heavy weight but the locking screws at the bottom are a bit hard to turn. The smaller long-nose pair does not have a very fine tip (compared with my father's older pair). I also prefer the quick release mechanism on the older set, but that is probably because I am used to it. These should help around the house since the arthritis in my right hand can be an issue.

Set of 3 locking pliers. One long nose and two curved jaw units. Can never have enough locking pliers especially if you do some welding. Quality is good, especially for the price. Some of the machined surfaces look rough and the threads on the adjustment rod sound rough but neither seem to affect the operation of the tools. Knurled hand grips. Packaging not suited for storage. The 10" size is good for holding and turning pipes. Good jaw size. Comes with a lifetime Warranty.

This Husky Locking Plier Set of three is a good value at just under $10.00, and the “No question, Lifetime Warranty”. All the other brands sell at about 1 pair for near the price of this set. Of course, as with most "Made In China" products you get what you pay for. These are OK, and will get the job done, but they’re not as well made as the old Vise-Grip or even the newer Irwin Vise Grip Locking pliers. These are much looser fitting in the joints, and the adjustment screws are rough in the threads. A few drops of oil on the threads helped, but they’re still rough. I can’t compare them to anything other than Vise-Grip because I don’t own any of the other brands. Like I said, at this price, they’re a good value, and should do what they’re made for.
